OF THE WEEK

PARENTING CORNER Key Qualities of a Good School
By: Madeleine Borrey
Indeed, by giving our children access to quality education, we help
them achieve personal growth and professional success. Therefore, it is
essential to invest in your children’s future by providing them with the best
possible education that only a good school can provide.
The following are some of the key qualities that a good school must
have:
1.A great school offers a clean and well-organized environment that is
conducive to learning. One excellent way to support better learning in
school is to provide the students with a clean and well-organized
environment where they can develop their skills and increase their
knowledge. That is one thing that Stonyhurst Southville gives much
importance to. The school’s Ates and Kuyas are doing their best to ensure
that the school will be a clean and comfortable place which helps
enhance the teaching and learning experience. With their dedication and
immense effort to keep SSIS Batangas a 5-Star Campus, the school is now
on top among all SGEN Schools in the SGEN 5-Star Campus Audit. This is a
sure proof that the school is a safe and clean home for its students.
2.A good school must have supportive teachers and administrators. Teachers
are students’ role models. They have a strong influence in shaping a
student’s attitude and personality, so it is necessary that they possess
admirable qualities which cultivate the students’ talents and abilities. SSIS
has good teachers who are approachable and willing to mentor their
students in achieving academic excellence and attaining their personal
goals. Moreover, the Sponsorship Program of the school allows the
teachers to develop harmonious relationship with the students.
3.An exceptional school works to build a safe learning environment for the
students. An effective school is a place where students feel safe, physically
and emotionally. It is a supportive community where the teachers and
students collaborate and focus on achieving better learning. SSIS focuses
not on giving punishments, but on preventing student misbehaviors by
implementing Preventive Discipline Seminars which help the students
realize the importance of discipline and of different values. Moreover, the
school has a comprehensive Anti-Bullying Campaign which prevents and
addresses possible acts of bullying.
