    HOW TO PLAY THIS MISSION

    Phase one Pre Game:

    -Find your opponent on the player matrix

    -Contact your opponent pick a time or place to play your game at a retail

    store (TCS, FF, RTPG, GW)

    -Pick up mission packet from TCS, or Print your own.

    -Meet your opponent to play your game

    Phase two Game:

    -Get a standard table & set up your terrain (about coverage)

    -Decide with your opponent what terrain rules to give your table set up

    -Define battle roles (attacker/defender)

    -Roll for Warlord traits

    -Roll for Psychic powers

    -Roll for any pre game set up rules

    -Defender sets up according to mission key

    -Attacker sets up according to mission key

    -Infiltrators (Defenders/Attackers)

    -Scouts (Defenders/Attackers)

    -Attacker attempts to seize the initiative

    -Defender goes firs, if attacker was not able to seize

    -Play your game

    Phase three Post Game:

    -Total up/ Complete points on Mission Report

    - Give your Mission Report to a retail rep at TCS-Comment in group about your completed mission

    -Wait for the next mission matrix to be published

    Mission One: Recover the relic

    If you are a Defenderyou will deploy first & get first turn (up to1K POINTS OF YOUR CHOICE) in the center circle. This is your recovery detachment. A perimete

    defense shieldingis deployed that grants a 3++to all shooting attacks crossinginto your deployment zone; contingent to the survival of your PFGseach is set

    as shown above. You will have to hold out two turns; all reserves (down to 500 PT OF YOUR CHOICE) arrive on turn 3 using both of the long table edges.

    -Your primary objective is to hold the relic shard until the end of the battle.

    -Your secondary objective is to defend your power field generators PFGs

    (PFGs may be repaired by any character in-lue of shooting on a roll of a 6 normal repair modifiers apply).

    If you are an Attackeryou will deploy on either or both table sides, normal deployment rules follow.

    -Your Primary objective is to take the relic shard & hold it until the end of battle.

    -Your Secondary objective is to destroy the defense perimeter (destruction of each reduces the effectiveness; 3++ start/4++/5++/5++ with in 6)

    PRIMARY SCORING: 9 points

    - The Relic is worth 5 points at the end of the game & whomever holds the relic is a defender for the next battle

    - Each PFG is a 1 for 1 point. Each PFG that survives the end game is one defender point; Each PFG that is destroyed is one Attacker Point (4point Value).

    Notable Achievement Points: 6 points

    - First Blood/Slay the Warlord;each one point (2 Achievement points max)

    - Eliminated Unit Type in Play;HQ & Troops. All opponent HQs/Troops eliminated one point each (2Achievement points max, one point each)

    - Strategic Intervention; if a reserve unit successfully destroys an opponents unit on the turn they arrive;

    - PFG 1/1; If all PFG survive/or all destroyed player gains an additional point to Defender/Attacker (1 Achievement point each)

    Prologue:

    -Recovered Distress Transmission -

    An incident with the relic recovered fromsector Axeom Prime has rendered our vessel

    corrupt & we abandoned the crew. Inquisitor

    Lord Loken remained with the on board, also

    corrupt.

    Our vessel, the Udessus, was left adrift, but no

    longer. As witnessed by myself and the few

    others whom have escaped aboard an Aquila

    Lander, a warp storm abnormality engulfed the

    Udessu. Devoured into the warp it was.

    I alone hold the secrets Logen used to unite the

    shards found in the Axeom System. I fear it is

    too dangerous & the corruption as fallowed the

    survivors. Our Lander is failing the survivors are

    turning against me, against each other. I have

    jettisoned the broken artifact in hopes to return

    to Terra alive with my reports.

    Only I fear the worst.

    An encroaching warp storm that originatedinside the starcruser Udessus took the ship & all

    crew aboard into the warp. It is a total loss. A

    single Lander escaped from the Udessus with an

    item of great value to our overall mission. You

    are to recover this item at all cost.

    The Lander was destroyed in the Axeom

    system. On your mission report you will have

    orders detailing a designated sector of the

    system in order for you to recover the cargo of

    the Aquila Lander. You are to recover this itemat any cost & return it back for analysis. You

    have orders to deploy a recovery detachment.

    November 15, 2014 [INTO THE VOID MISSION PACKET: ONE]

    Prepare for an epic struggle to collect ancient

    artifacts of unknown powers for your

    Warhammer 40,000 faction!

    Design a 1500 point army list with intent to

    start off as an attackeror defenderin mind (all

    battles are attacker vs. defender). No unique

    HQ characters are allowed for this narrative

    game play. You may design from a two source

    format also counting additional fortifications as

    a source. Defenders always have the relic so if

    you lost the relic in the last battle you will be an

    attacker next battle.

    Gain knowledge that develops throughout the

    battles from one game to the next to unlock the

    secrets of the relic in a developing story that is

    unique to your army detachment.

    The Battles are scored in 3 different ways:

    Relic/Battle Points, Notable Achievements,

    Corruption.

    Now are you ready for Battle!

    Act One-Into the Void-

    This Act will involve three scenes or battlesplayed in a casual pick-up format. They are as

    follows.

    -Battle One: Recovery

    -Battle Two: The Secret

    -Battle Three: Union

    Objectives:

    In the first battle as Defenders your goal is to

    keep the relic shard from the Attackers.

    Attackers goal is to collect the relic shard.

    Simple, right?

    Scoring will be three fold. Each Mission will

    describe how the first two are scored in the

    mission key.

    - 1 Relic Control/Objectives

    - 2 Notable Achievements.

    -3 Corruption (Scoring Corruption will be

    described below & is worth negative points.)

    Each Battle will be published on the group sight

    & mission packets will be picked up from TCS.

    From that time you will freely contact your

    opponent & schedule your battle. The second

    battle will be released in

    concession/completion of all players having mettheir battle and/or the two week period is up.

    Corruption:

    Game up force multipliers!!!

    Players gain corruption points for each time

    their army exceeds the starting value of

    1500(yes looking at you Chaos Summons,

    Tyranids & Necrons). This accounts of total

    start value not current values (so any army

    losses excluded)

    Corruption is scored as follows and treated as

    negative points:

    +1-100pts =1

    +101-200 pts =2

    +201-300 pts =3

    +301-400 pts =4

    +401-500 pts =5

    +501-XXX pts =5 *

    *5 corruption is scored for each new unit over

    500pts.

    Furthermore corruption may be awarded in the

    last battle seen Union by all players. It will be

    described in its battle key.

    Rouge Trooper Award:

    If a unit or single model displays a heroic feat

    against all odds type of scenario, survives or

    not, a rouge trooper may be awarded. This

    must be agreed on by both players & will be

    awarded by the TO after the completion of each

    battle seen. Rouge Trooper awards will be

    noted in the player matrix as they are

    published. Unit/models eligible must is a basic

    ground infantry troop choice to be eligible for

    this bonus (no fearless/relentless units).

    -AWARD ACTION-

    Any unit awarded, that does not have a

    SGT/team leader upgrade will now receive one

    at no additional cost. The awarded player may

    nominate a model of the players choice in thatunit to receive the award (so keep track of this

    model). These awards are carried over into

    further battles.

    If the unit whom receives this award already

    purchased a SGT/team leader upgrade and/or

    this unit receives a second award apply the

    following:

    -

    +1 Wound(Max of 2 Wounds)

    -

    +1 BS-

    +1 WS

    -

    +1 Attack(Max of 3 attacks)

    -

    +1 LD (Max of 10)

    These Awards are continued throughout the

    tournament & are only awarded if a heroic

    action is noted. Further if the heroic action is a

    sacrificial action (hence the unit is eliminated or

    destroyed from the battle as a result) a rouge

    trooper may still be awarded. So that stated,

    not all games or players will be awarded a

    Rouge Trooper. Only the brave souls whom

    face insurmountable odds will become a rouge

    trooper.
