In the United States and around the World billions of cubic foot of natural gas are flared or vented into the atmosphere every day. Flared and vented gas has the potential of significant additional revenue for the operator of the oil production wells if it were to be captured and compressed into a sales pipeline. In addition, both flaring and venting of methane gas have negative effects on the environment, contributing to an increase in greenhouse gases which have been linked to global warming and disruption weather cycles. Authorities are becoming increasingly vigilant on reducing greenhouse emissions through regulation and fines. Besides environmental compliance, many larger operators are worried about their corporate image due to increasing pressure from citizens and environmental groups.

BAUER GRU™ GAS & VAPOR RECOVERY SYSTEMSThe Bauer GRU™ (Gas Recovery Unit) product range has been specifically designed for well gas recovery and flash gas vapor recovery in oil production facilities. At the heart of every GRU™ system is the legendary Bauer Rotorcomp® rotary screw compressor which is world renowned for exceptional durability and reliability. The GRU™’s sophisticated control system senses pressure upstream of the unit and automatically adjusts compressor speed to modulate compressor output based on the availability of gas. If there is an insufficient amount of gas available upstream for compression, the system automatically goes into standby mode for instantaneous compression capability when upstream gas pressure suddenly increases. This significantly reduces the occurrence of venting gas into the atmosphere because the compressor is ready to operate instantaneously vs. ramping up through normal start-up sequences after being completely shut down.

› Bauer Reliability and Durability: Bauer’s extremely reliable and durable Rotorcomp® rotary screw compressor is at the heart of every GRU™ system.

› Superior Operation: Bauer’s sophisticated PLC control system senses upstream gas pressure, then automatically adjusts compressor throughput including going into standby mode if there is no momentary gas to compress. This significantly reduces occurrences when gas has to be vented into the atmosphere because of sudden pressure build-up in the oil tank, a vacuum is created by the compressor.

› Wide Operating Range: Bauer offers a wide range of available system capacities. From small/medium sized vapor recovery systems (20-180 MCFD) to large gas recovery systems - up to 900 MCFD in electric drive and up to 2,600 MCFD in natural gas engine drive.

BAUER CONNECT™ REMOTE TELEMETRY AND CONTROL VIA MOBILE APPBauer Connect™ is an App-based IOT solution which allows Bauer customers to remotely monitor the performance as well as control the entire Bauer system through any wireless mobile device or computer anywhere, any time.

The Bauer Connect™ App will provide “push notifications” if certain critical parameters of the Bauer system fall outside of normal operating range or if triggered by a system alert. This assures that essential personnel are notified immediately, thus allowing for pro-active intervention in situations which could potentially be detrimental to the Bauer system as well as the customer's operation. The remote HMI function allows factory trained technical personnel to remotely control the Bauer system via the Bauer Connect™ App with the exact same functionality as if one were standing in front of the actual unit. Bauer Connect™ will also display a real-time graphical display of the entire system (SCADA view) as well as any historical data via a multitude of standard and customized reports. Other important information such as system operating instructions, maintenance schedules and parts information can also be accessed via the Bauer Connect™ App.
