For the last decade, Capt. Brad Israel has been in leadership roles earning the respect of his men, his chain of command, the indigenous forces and local people.

Captain Robert B. Israel joined the Army in 2005 earning his commission through the Officer Candidate School as an Infantry Officer. After sucessfully graduating Ranger and Airborne Schools, Israel led an Airborne Rifle Platoon, a Heavy Weapons Platoon, and a Scout Reconnaissance Platoon, all in combat in the eastern provinces of Afghanistan. Israel earned a Bronze Star and an Army Commendation Medal with a “V” device for Valor in battle. Israel went through the Special Forces Assessment Selection in 2008 and was selected to attend the Special Forces Qualification Course earning the coveted “Green Beret” in February 2011.

He was assigned to 7th Special Forces Group and served as a Detachment Commander for an elite mountain detachment in Afghanistan and led a water infiltration detachment in Colombia; he earned his second Bronze Star and a Meritorious Service Medal for his leadership in the unit while with 7th Special Forces Group. Israel published a photography book, Faces of the Future that documents his experiences working in the villages of Afghanistan.

Originally from Mobile, Alabama, Israel is a 2004 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College where he graduated magna cum laude with an emphasis in political science and public service. In 2013, Israel returned to his hometown of Mobile and now spends his time speaking to a variety of groups including corporations, athletic teams, non-profit organizations, schools and other institutions.
