From the Desk of Padre José…..
Today in our Gospel from St. Luke we are reminded of the preparation which we are invited to partake with John the Baptist. We hear as it is written in the book of the words of the prophet Isaiah: A voice of one crying out in the desert: “Prepare the way of the Lord; make straight his paths. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The winding roads shall be made straight, and the rough ways made smooth. And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.” Let us continue trusting in the light of Christ as we prepare for the Lord to guide us. This past Wednesday, our school children did a wonderful job at our regular Mass of bringing different examples of objects that give light to them. I truly en-joyed their examples because they were focusing on seeing and being guided. May
we continue to trust in God and His light. Fraternally, Fr. José
P.S. This coming December 12th we are celebrating Our Lady of Guadalupe. Traditionally there is an early Mass to commemorate her with morning songs. This time we will celebrate her Mass on December 12 at 12:00AM. The Church will be open to those who want to come and pay homage to her. The Church will be open all night so as to accommodate different traditions. Our Church will be safe since there are many ministers staying behind on vigil. The 6:30PM Mass on December 12th is for our Religious Education Program. The Mass will be bilingual with most of it being done in English for our Religious Education kids and teenagers. All are welcome.

REPORTING ABUSE/MISCONDUCT It is important to communicate your concerns if you observe anyone interacting with a child
in an inappropriate manner. Parents, family members, teachers, clergy and all who work with or are responsible for the care of children need to remember that speaking up is one of the most important
things they can do to protect not just their own children, but all children. Voicing your concerns is critical to protecting God’s children. Any incident of abuse or misconduct should be immediately
reported. For a copy of the complete VIRTUS® article, “Are We Communicating our Concerns?,” please visit http://www.la-archdiocese.org/org/protecting/Pages/VIRTUS-Current-Online-Articles.aspx.
Are We Communicating our Concerns?” (¿Estamos comunicando nuestras preocupaciones?), visita http://www.la-archdiocese.org/org/protecting/Pages/VIRTUS-Current-Online-Articles.aspx.
