BEACHWOOD ARTS COUNCIL FALL 2016 ART PROGRAMS BEACHWOOD LIBRARY FUN DAY Sunday, September 25 • 2 – 4pm • Beachwood Library Friends of the Beachwood Library, with support of the Beachwood Arts Council, invites you to celebrate the unveiling of two newly-restored sculptures, Bell Harp and Mother Goose; to create your own art; and to participate in various make-and-take projects for all ages. A balloon clown and henna artist will help round out this exciting aſternoon! e BAC will be selling memberships and its Art Note Cards, created by Beachwood residents. INKED IMAGES: SEVEN PRINTMAKERS Friday, October 14 – Sunday, November 6 • Beachwood Community Center Gallery Hours: Mon. – Fri. 10am – 4pm; Sat. 10am – 3pm; Sun. 10am – 1pm OPENING RECEPTION: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15 • 5 – 8pm is exhibit features the artwork of seven printmakers (Abbey Blake, Amy Casey, Liz Maugans, Wendy Partridge, Nicole Schneider, Lisa Schonberg and Paula Zinsmeister) who express a wide range of traditional and contemporary themes, from the natural to the abstract, including three-dimensional pieces, such as books and sculptures. MONOPRINT WORKSHOP: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22 • 1-3pm Join printmaker Lisa Schonberg for a beginning monoprint class. Participants will learn the basics of applying ink to a sheet of plastic with additive and subtractive methods, as well as employing stencils, soſt textures, collage and even natural materials like leaves and pine needles to make a print. Textures, paper and inks will be provided. Optional: bring your own photos, sketches and soſt materials, like yarn, string, lace, leaves, etc. Please bring an apron or wear old clothes and rubber gloves. $25/BAC members; $35/non-members. Saturday, October 30 • 1 – 4:30pm • Beachwood Community Center Join us for a fun-filled aſternoon of silk painting with well-known fiber artist Gunter Schwegler. Design and paint a beautiful silk scarf. No experience necessary! Fee includes all materials. $35/BAC members; $45/non-members. To register, please call 216.595.3400 and leave your name and telephone number. Registration deadline is October 10. CLASSICAL REVOLUTION Sunday, November 6 • 2pm • Beachwood Community Center Enjoy music performed by this accomplished string quartet, composed of graduates from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Musical offerings range from Mozart to Gershwin to Philip Glass. is program is free and open to the community. Freewill offering accepted.
