Dear Booksin Families,

My name is Felicia Tan and I am excited to be a part of the Booksin family this school year.

I grew up in Fremont, California and received my Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Sociology and minored in Education at the University of California, Santa Barbara. After graduating from UCSB, I went on to pursue a teaching and administrative credential from San Jose State University. There, I also graduated with completing my Masters in Administration. I have been teaching since 2006 with San Jose Unified School District where I have taught almost all elementary grade levels.

I also enjoy living an active lifestyle. In my free time, I play basketball, hike, and enjoy spending time with family and friends.

I look forward to a fantastic school year filled with making memories and developing lifelong learners.

Before /After School Safety Pursuant to the SJUSD Student/ Parent Handbook, students should not be dropped off at school prior to 30 minutes before opening bell. Additionally, parents should arrange to have their children picked up promptly after dismissal. Parents should not encourage their children to “just play on the playground” until they can be picked up. It is unsafe for students to be left at school without supervision and unfair to expect school staff to supervise students on a regular basis. However, in an emergency, parents should call the school to arrange for their child to wait in the office

The agenda and May 2015 Draft Meeting Minutes may be found at http://mybesca.com/about-besca/meetings/. Art@Booksin It’s official we are off and running with the new program! All students have either completed their self-portrait or will be doing so this this week. The kids all seemed to enjoy this lesson, so please let us know your feedback too. Our next lesson is a community art piece for the Walkathon Auction, so get your wallets ready! Thanks for all your support! Yearbook Photos Have you been taking photos of your child on the Booksin campus? Now you can share them for the yearbook, via the Balfour Image Share app for iPhone and Android users; Use Project No. 626270. Thanks in advance from the Yearbook team!
