1BELGRAVE & GROSVENOR ROADSWELCOME

Welcome to the third consultation event to discuss proposals for new homes and for improvements to your neighbourhood. We met with you in June and August last year, and since then Brick by Brick and HTA have been developing proposals.

Croydon, like many other London boroughs, has a growing population and a critical shortage of housing. You may be aware that Croydon Council is seeking to address this problem by setting up a development company called ‘Brick by Brick’. Over the last year, we at Brick by Brick have been working hard to deliver vitally needed new homes by identifying potential sites for development, and working up housing proposals which are appropriate to these sites.

2BELGRAVE & GROSVENOR ROADSYOU’VE TOLD US...

These are some of your comments on the initial proposals:

• Strong support for play areas for children and green space• Having a shared garden could bring the community together • Proposals are more welcome if they could manage the anti-social behaviour problems• Support for community space• Would like to see improved security lighting and cctv especially for the footpath from Norwood Junction to Portland Road• Would like places to walk dogs

Entrance to Belgrave House

This is the option we showed you in August 2016 which gave most advantages for residents.

Last August we showed you some options for new mixed tenure homes and landscape improvements. We have been developing designs based on the option which had the most advantages for residents of Belgrave and Grosvenor.

You told us about some of the issues you have with Belgrave and Grosvenor, and the proposals on boards 3 and 4 show how we have responded.

• There is no privacy around the ground floor flats • Entrances to Belgrave and Grosvenor are not very welcoming• Anti-social behaviour around the bus stop• Lack of security and lighting• The view from the High Street and rear of High Street could be improved

• Residents would like a community space
