BUW launches a major community outreach cam-paign to identify the community aspiration, goals,and desired outcomes.
The outreach work included regular meetings of four different working groups:
Early Childhood Development and Educa-tion SuccessK-12 School and Youth Development Suc-cessWorkers and Scholars SucceedNeighborhood Success
Over 400 representatives from more than 75organizations and community volunteers acrossthe region participated in a BUW-facilitatedmeeting series which spanned two years andresulted in defined goals and outcomes for theregion.
BUW collaborates with the Berkshire RegionalPlanning Commission to conduct regional dataand program outcome evaluation. BRPCdevelops a baseline report of related data points(measures) for the BUW goals, outcomes, andindicator statements.
BUW develops and issues its first Request ForProposals (RFP) for a competitive applicationprocess.
BUW volunteers select 55 programs from 27partner organizations from 98 submittedCommunity Impact applications.
BUW works with its 55 program partners toimplement outcome tracking and reportingfor both program-specific work andmeasures, and community-wide conditionsas defined by the Community Impact model.
Monitoring visits verify program activity,measurement, and environment of eachpartner program.
BUW selected a grants managementsoftware to facilitate future RFP and outcomereporting.
BUW saw the Community Impact modelbegin to have spin -off impacts in thecommunity as organizations beganindependent collaborations to tackle teenpregnancy, early childhood education, andaligning regional socio-economic priority-setting and action campaigns.
