Best Practices by SPFU Tamil Nadu 1) Faculty and Staff Development training programmes are conducted
regularly with the help of
- IIT Madras,
- Anna University Chennai,
- IIMs etc.
2) Faculty and Staff are deputed to attend Trainings / Workshops /
Conferences conducted in other States with the permission of Director of
Technical Education & Head of SPFU.
(Total training proceedings issued : 720)
3) The detailed report of the training programmes undertaken, the
experience gained on the training and action plan to implement the gains
of the training from the faculty and staff of TEQIP Institutions who has
attended training programmes /conferences outside the State / abroad
are sent to SPFU within 10 days after attending the programme.
4) To improve the Employability skills of Engineering College students,
5000 British Coun il’s jobseeker software are given to 500 Engineering
Colleges . Jobseekers - Monitoring and Evaluation (M & E) exercise is also
carried out.
Best Practices by SPFU Tamil Nadu
5) Guiding the TEQIP Institutions to attain all the Key Performance Indicators and named as Best Performing Institutions by NPIU /MHRD in 4th , 5th and 6th Joint Review Mission meetings (JRM) and allotted additional fund of Rs.5 Crore to each Institution. 6) Quality Improvement Cell (QIC) are formed in all Engineering Colleges In Tamil Nadu with TEQIP Institutions acting as Nodal Centres to improve the quality of Technical Education.
7) Linking with IIT Bombay , E-yantra Robotics lab is established in 65 Engineering Colleges 8) NMEICT for AView, NPTEL, talk to Teacher in Engineering Colleges are arranged. 9) Helped in esta lishing TEACHING LEARNING CENTRE in each TEQIP Institutions
to improve the teaching learning skills and to increase the transition rate.
10) Three Mentoring, Two Data Auditing and Two Academic Performance Auditing are completed. Final Data Auditing and Performance Auditing are under process.
11) Internal Financial Audit and Statutory Audit completed for 2015-16.

12) To improve the transition rate/pass percentage
- Educational DVD in bilingual medium (English and Tamil) released
- For subjects Maths, English and Physics
- Prepared and distributed to all 550 Engg Institutions throughout the
State.
