President’s Message
Dear Beta Chi Sisters,
It is such a long time from December 1st until March 2nd! I hope you had wonderful holidays and times with your family and friends. It'll be great getting together again soon. 2017 is off to a great start. Reports have been submitted to ADS, thanks to our Executive Board and Co-Chairpersons' meeting. The planning of the 2018 Tri-County Chapters Meeting which will be hosted by Gamma Pi and our Beta Chi Chapters is well under way. Also, a number of our sisters volunteered to help bag jellybeans for the Children's Rehabilitation Cen-ter . . . to name a few. Now we're focusing on new members, our pro-ject "Inspiring Minds" with Deryck Toles (Don't forget to bring your donations to our March 2nd meeting.), and the Alpha Delta State Conven-tion In Fairlawn/Akron. We are an active group that is getting stronger each year. It is truly a pleasure to work with such caring, helpful and wonderful sisters!
DKG Love,
Juanita Barber

Can you guess who I am? Find out at this month's dinner meet-ing!
I taught Grades 2, 4 and 6 for the McDonald School System. I also started McDonald's high school girls' track team! Years later, even though I was no longer coaching, the girls won the State Championship...and they asked ME to sign their trophy...such an honor it was! I retired in 2000 after 30 years of teaching! I have been a Beta Chi Sister for 5 years now! My husband and I have been married for 47 years! We have no children of our own, so we must spoil our two nieces, who are 5 and 8!
When I was younger, I loved to cheer! I was a cheerleader both my junior and senior year, when our Niles McKinley Red Dragons were ranked #1 in the State!! Now, I enjoy spoiling our nieces, and caring for all our "feathered children" that come to visit the many feeders we placed on our property. If only we could claim them as a tax deduction!!
Can you guess WHO I AM? Find out at the March 2 meeting!

President Juanita Barber greeted us as we gathered at the Trumbull Country Club to celebrate the Christmas season with DKG sisters of the Alpha Omega Chapter and special guest, Patricia Cermak, our Alpha Delta State President. Festivities began with a spectacular video “A Delta Kappa Gamma Christmas” created by Roselyn Gadd. The Alpha Omega “Singing Lillies” and the “Beta Chi Singers” harmonized together on Silver Bells and Grace, both directed by Sue Ellen Harris Davis.
The Lakeview High School Madrigal Singers, under the direction of Bonnie Chronister, shared the spirit of the season with their polished performance of favorite Christmas classics and humorous novelty songs. Patricia Cermak offered a thoughtful, heart-tugging story reminding us that kindness is a gift we can all give. Juanita Barber presented her with a token of our appreciation.
Deborah Davis, Wendy Spoerr and their committee presented lucky raffle winners with beautiful holiday prize baskets. Members thanked the committee for the evening’s arrangements and the cute angel decorations. Sandy Bilovesky won the 50/50 raffle. President Barber offered a lovely poem entitled “A Christmas Blessing” before adjourning the meeting.
