SiO – The Foundation for Student Life in Oslo

• Housing– 6000 student rooms– Prices from 1700 NOK

• Student Health Services– Doctors, counsellors, psychologist

• Sports• Career Services• Bookstore• Kindergartens

Housing• BI guarantees all international students a

place to live. • SiO and BSN are our housing providers,

and international students are prioritized.• The number of international students is

increasing. The availability of student housing, however, is not increasing correspondingly.

• Therefore we are looking for alternative housing options

SBIO – The Student Union

• Works for the academic and social interests of all students at BI in Oslo, as well as offering different welfare services.

• Approximately 1000 active students run the union

• The BI students have a student house with bars, a concert hall, and offices for the student union

International students• We have a taskforce addressing the

different aspects of receiving an increasing number of international student– International relations Office, BI Student

welfare, The student union

• Information• Buddies• BI-nner and other meeting places and

activities

Student Chaplain – Nils Jøran

• Part of the counselling service at BI in Oslo• He works closely with the student union, and has a

special responsibility for international students• Binner, teaches painting and

relaxation techniques• He offers Student Services in English
