Sunday, July 5 - - Sermon Text: Act 15:1-11 “The Jerusalem Council”

Sunday, July 12 - - Sermon Text: Act 15:12-35 “The Council’s Letter to Gentile Believers ”

Bloomfield Baptist Family:

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling." Psalm 46:1-3

Can you imagine experiencing the catastrophic events de-tailed in the first few verses of Psalm 46? The earth opening up before you? The seas rising above the high-est mountain range? The very earth beneath you trem-bling? And in the midst of all that hearing this word from The Lord, "Do not fear! I am your refuge! I am your strength!"

Chances are, none of will experience a natural disaster of a Psalm 46 magnitude, but there will be times when we feel shaken. There will be times when we suffer, or watch those we love suffer. There will be times when things don't go according to plan and we have to deal with disap-pointment. And in those times, we can find comfort in the words of the psalmist, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

Christian, your refuge is not found in your strength, it is found in the Lord. Your ability to deal with hard times is not found in how seasoned you are, it is found in the Lord. Trust in Him today and everyday!

Resting in the Lord with you,

Pastor Richard
