Who is an engineer?• Engineers are people who solve problems and

focus on making things work more efficiently and effectively.

• Engineers apply the theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems.

• Their work is the link between perceived social needs and commercial applications.

Engineering Physics I Unit II AND III – Provides the basics for “Applied

Thermodynamics and Fluid Dynamics” - subject during sem 4

Unit IV – Provides the basics for “Biomedical Instrumentation”- subject during sem 7

Unit V – Provides the basics for “Fibre Optics and Laser Instruments”- subject during sem 7

knowledge on physics is needed to get placed in product companies like SOLITON TECHNOLOGIES, JOHNSON CONTROLS etc

Page 21: Big picture of electronics and instrumentation engineering

Engineering Physics IIUnit I, II AND III – Provides the basics for better

understanding of “Electronic Devices and Circuits” and “Linear Integrated Circuits and Applications” subjects during sem 3

These subjects are considered to be the basic building blocks of any Electronics engineers

Unit V –talks about nano materials which provides the basics for “Fundamentals of Nanoscience” an elective paper during sem 7.

Mathematics I and II Provides basic ideas to solve matrices, vectors, differential and

integral equations Provides knowledge on Laplace transform and z transform. Which are most needed in analytical papers during higher

semester. To name few subjects are

Discrete Time Systems and Signal Processing (Sem 3) Control Systems (Sem 5) Power Electronics (Sem 5) Process Control (sem 6) Advanced Control System (sem 7 –Elective) Digital Control System (sem 7 –Elective)

Two more mathematical papers will be there namely Transforms and Partial Differential Equations (Sem 3) Numerical Methods (Sem 4)

Page 26: Big picture of electronics and instrumentation engineering

26

Computer Programming

Page 27: Big picture of electronics and instrumentation engineering

Computer Programming (Sem I)

exposed to the syntax of C and programming in C. Learn to use arrays, strings, functions, pointers, structures

and unions in C. Which will be useful while learning

Object Oriented Programming (C++ and JAVA) and its lab during 4th sem

Microprocessors and Microcontrollers and its lab during 5th sem Embedded system where the programming is done as Embedded

C Data structures and algorithms Operating systems

Above said subjects plays major role in getting placements in dream companies like CTS, INFOSYS, WIPRO etc
