Here at BIG4 Bright Holiday Park we are looking forward to the cooler months and

have set our sights to winter activities in the Alpine High Country….. We have

some pretty exciting things planned.

If you’re into gourmet delights look no further than our reception. We have new

local products in stock available for purchase. These include gourmet treats, ice

creams, kids activity packs and now, assorted teas and freshly roasted coffee from

Sixpence Coffee Bright.

Me-bikes – We are excited to announce the arrival of our two beautiful electronic

Me-bikes. Ever been to Italy? Do you know what a Vesper is? Well, we have the

two most beautiful electronic bikes on the market for hire right here in the park.

Want to experience the rail trail, however don’t think you’re capable of the

distance… problem solved.

Sixpence Coffee at BIG4 Bright - Local business Sixpence Coffee have joined

forces with us during some of our busy periods to supply your morning latte! How

lucky are we? They will bring their portable barista machine to us! Sixpence are

passionate about delivering quality coffee to North East Victoria, and this is

reflected in everything they do from initial bean selection, through to roasting,

brewing, and in their amazing customer service. We will even offer coffee

mornings on selected dates so you can discover this exciting new local

business. Stay tuned for our coffee talks and tastings soon!

Soft drinks anyone? We have been listening to our guests and coming soon we

will offer soft drinks and water from our new vending machine at reception. And

wait for it…soon we’ll have a selection of local wines/beer over the counter.

More wine please! Due to public demand we have added yet another amazing

winery to our wine tastings and appreciation evenings. And why not when we have

some of the best cool climate wineries right in our back yard! Billy Button

SAYING GOODBYE TO AUTUMN

After one of our busiest and brightest autumns on record, sporting events, festivals

and markets galore… it is time to slow down and take in the beauty of our natural

surrounds. As we go to print (or type) the last of our beautiful leaves are falling.

With recent regular snowfalls, we know snow is on the way.

BIG RED KIDNEY BUS

Have you ever heard of the Big Red Kidney Bus? In January of 2011, Vince

Tripodi shared an idea with his family and those he shared dialysis with. His vision

was a Mobile Kidney Dialysis unit that could give dialysis patients opportunities for

treatment in an environment beyond their local hospital and improve their overall

health and wellbeing.

Now that his idea is a reality, the community engagement in the Big Red Kidney

Bus project has led to an increased awareness of Kidney Health and an

understanding of the challenges renal failure poses. The Bus will provide

opportunities for a change of scenery for people on dialysis whilst maintaining

required life-sustaining treatment. It is a positive change for the wellbeing of

dialysis patients.

park from 10 August – 4 September 2015. Do you know anyone who would love to

take a holiday, however needs to continue dialysis? Let them know as there are

still bus vacancies.

WINTER IN BRIGHT AND SURROUNDS

The Alpine High Country has so much on offer during winter. If you have never

been to the snow and need a few hints follow this link to our alpine resorts

information page for snow reports, check lists, information and tips.

Our villas and cabins provide a toasty warm atmosphere with easy access to both

town and the alpine resorts. Winter to us is enjoying the snow sport activities such

as skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, cross country skiing, snow shoeing and

simply viewing a snow capped mountain in the distance, or even better from a

local winery. Daytime temperatures range between 10-17 degrees in Bright then

drop to a chilly 0-6 degrees overnight, setting the scene for a romantic alpine

getaway. Pack your winter woollies and enjoy.

Heading to the snow this season? Unsure about how it all works with gate entry,

snow driving, chain fitting, parking? etc. Problem solved. Contact Tour of Duty

Bright, Snowball Express to arrange your transport to Hotham and Falls Creek

Coach Service for a lift up to Falls Creek. Check out our winter packages online

too. Don’t forget BIG4 Bright offer chain and toboggan hire from reception to help

streamline your time away.

Explore… For snow enthusiasts head to these resort websites for all activities,

entry permits/pricing and events Falls Creek, Hotham, Dinner Plain or Buffalo. Our

beautiful alpine resorts are all within a 1.5 hour drive of the park. Don’t forget your

snow chains and anti-freeze during the declared snow season.

Enjoy… Not a snow enthusiast? Why not enjoy a day trip and discover the local

delights at Beechworth, Milawa, Harrietville and Wandiligong. Some interesting

tastings including breweries, cheese, mustards, olives, cordials and don’t forget

the delicious honey. Head out to the Buckland Valley and visit Mt Buffalo Olives.

There are also ghost and cemetery tours, trout and lavender farms to visit. Or

hire a bike at Cyclepath Bright and pedal your way from café to café, winery to

winery.

Relax… Looking forward to relaxing in the area. Why not try out one of our

beautiful new cafes. What You Eat is our newest organic café in Bright. It is a must

to visit next time in Bright and is located in the top end of Ireland St and you won’t

be disappointed.Try the new Lupos cafe in Myrtleford or our new Cloud9 Cinema .

Then there is always one of our great local breweries Bright Brewery, Bridge Road

Brewers, Black Dog Brewery or the Sweetwater Brewing Company.

club. They had a fantastic week here in Bright with daily activities, bocce and much

more.

MEET OUR STAFF

Blair Godenzi – Maintenance Officer. Blair has lived in theBright area since 2010

after moving here from W.A. Blair and wife Anna, own and run Half Moon Creek

(Moodance Cottage) in Wandiligong. They have two young boys aged 1 & 3. Blair

is passionate about all things outdoors and also owns and operates the River to

Ridge Adventure Tours Dirt Bike & 4x4 business, and is a keen Essendon

supporter. Blair enjoys hunting and fishing during his leisure time. Asking Blair

what he enjoys most about BIG4 Bright he answered "I guess it’s the location and

ensuring guests have a comfortable stay in a quiet landscaped setting which

makes for a great holiday experience. I take pride in my work hoping that guests

will appreciate time here and in the township of Bright".

EVENTS IN THE PARK

We’ve been flat out spoiling our guests with tastings, viewings, games, activities

and information all on events, festivals, day trips and what not.

We are busy looking into some new and exciting activities for winter and spring. If

you like coffee, wine and games you’re in for a real treat!
