Bingo cards- activities Activity 1- Bingo Small groups/ Full class Materials- Bingo cards, 1 copy Bingo word list Give each student, or pair of students, a bingo card. Using the bingo word list, slowly pick out words(you can either cut them out and pick them out of a box/hat, or you can choose them at random from the sheet ) . When the students hear a word that they have on their card, they must cover it with a counter(any material-paper,plastic, pieces of pasta). When a student has covered all the pictures on their card they must shout BINGO! to win the game. Activity 2- Shopping list Small groups Materials- Bingo cards, multiple copies bingo word list, cut out. Split the group into teams (2 or 3 per team). Give each team a bingo card. The teacher is the shop keeper, and stands at her "shop counter". One by one, a member from each team must come to the shop and ask for something from their shopping list (the bingo card). "Can I have an apple?" If they say the sentence/ word correctly, the teacher gives the student the picture card for that item i.e the apple picture card, if they do not say it correctly it is the next teams opportunity. The winning team is the team that completes their bingo card first. Alternatively the students will like to play this with no competition if each has a bingo card, but you will need many copies of the word list.
