IntroductionMicroorganisms are ubiquitous. They thrive and grow easily, especially in moisture-rich environments. Once present, they can compromise product functionality, performance and aesthetics.

In the world of industrial materials — paints, coatings, adhesives, sealants, caulks, joint compounds, etc. — the threat of microorganisms, such as bacteria, mold and mildew must be mitigated. ISP offers an innovative range of specialty biocides under the CleanGuard™ brand, the Fungitrol® and Nuosept® lines that have long been proven to prevent the growth of these microorganisms.

Our “in-can” biocides protect products during storage and transport, while “dry-film” biocides help maintain the quality of product performance in application. ISP uses a three-step process to help ensure your product and application success:

1. Plant housekeeping and hygieneISP examines and tests your plant site for sources of contamination to minimize product spoilage and improve your bottom line.

2. Laboratory testingOur technical service center provides specialized expertise in formulation, compatibility and microbiology studies to help customers with both product selection and solutions to technical problems.

3. Field testingISP employs exterior exposure sites in various climates to develop new products and to compare the efficacy of competing fungicides and algaecides in numerous coatings and substrates.
