It all started in 1999. Disappointed with whatwas available to us as enthusiasts, we threwaway the rule book and engineered our own innovative aquarium.

The biOrb. We thought about what fish need and

we thought about the needs of the aquariumowner. The fundamentals had to be right.

There is now a choice of sizes and shapes ofaquarium and a complete line of accessories.

Today we ship to over 40 countries all over theworld and more than one million owners enjoya biOrb aquarium.

This simple idea is really the heart of a biOrb.You don’t need to be an aquatics expert to enjoy keeping fish - a biOrb makes the hobby

accessible to everyone. The all-in-one kit meansthat your customer goes home with everythingthey need to get started. It’s easy and

understandable which means they’ll soon beback for more. More decor, more filters andmore accessories.

Made from acrylic, not glass. Here’s whyAcrylic is 10 times stronger than glass. In factacrylic just over one inch thick (32mm), is actuallybullet resistant.

It’s also noticeably clearer. Acrylic has a transparency rate of 93% making it the clearest

material known. Glass only allows 70% of lightto pass through and thick glass always has agreen tint.

Here’s how a biOrbaquarium worksAll biOrbs have a filter at the bottom of the aquarium. It’s where solid waste naturally settles.Put simply, the filter works where there is mostto filter.

The biOrb filtration cycle1. Air driven filtration system creates vigorous

water flow and a constantly changing watersurface. This maintains oxygen saturation.

2. The circular flow of water then collects anyfish waste on its way down.

3. It draws the waste through the ceramicmedia where the natural biological filtrationabsorbs some toxins. The freshly oxygenatedwater also feeds the bacteria.

4. Any remaining waste is trapped in thesponge cartridge. The water then passesthrough resin particles and natural stabilisersto remove toxic substances and keep the pHlevels constant.

5. The clean water is then oxygenated as itflows back up the bubble tube to repeat thecycle.

With its hidden waterline, the biOrbHALO is a visually seamless aquarium.

LED lightingThe biOrb HALO 30 has two versions of LED lighting. A standard version has a biOrb LEDlight above the bubble tube. The halo version is fitted inside the lid as a ring of LEDlights to give the contents of the aquarium a real3D appearance. At night the halo version automatically switches to the calm moonlight

setting. A light sensor allows you to set the exactlighting conditions for the automatic switchingto moonlight.

The 60 litre tank is fitted with the halo lightingonly.

Barry Reynolds is a designer who loves the natural world and five years ago he had an ideaabout using biOrb aquarium technologies forgrowing tropical plants.

Curiosity got the better of him and he built aprototype. His vision was to bring the naturalworld into the home in a way that has neverbeen done before. Barry admits that the earlyprototypes were a bit hotch-potch and someof the components were fixed together with aglue gun, but importantly, they worked.

One prototype lead to another. And another. Hundreds in fact. Through a long process of testing and problem solving, slowly a productstarted to evolve.

But that wasn’t enough. Barry has alwaysloved design and his home is a collection ofgreat furniture and beautiful objects. Drawingon these influences and working constantlyfor over two years, he refined the design sothat it was not only functional, but beautifultoo. He was determined that it had to work asa piece of furniture.

In his eyes it had to be a piece that would addgreater feeling to your home. The end result isa classic straight out of the box.
