FORMED IN 1991, BLACKBURN ROVERS LADIES HAVE A RICH ANDPROUD HISTORY IN THEWOMEN’S GAME

Gemma Donnelly assembled a new-look women’s squad for the 2014-15 campaign as Rovers finished third in the FA Women’s Premier League and secured silverware by lifting the Lancashire Challenge Cup.

Rovers retained the County crown in 2015-16, lifting the cup for the 10th time in the club’s history.

Her side took the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Premier Division by storm in 2016-17. The team enjoyed an unbeaten campaign - winning 17 and drawing three of their 20 league games - securing the title with four games to spare, as well as claiming the county crown for the third season in succession.

It would be a similar story in 2017-18, as Rovers once again enjoyed an outstanding season in the league and cup competitions, retaining the Northern Division title and Lancashire Cup, as well as lifting the Premier League Cup for the first time in the club’s history.

In the 2018/19 season Rovers were crowned League Champions for the third straight season, Lancashire FA Challenge Cup winners for the fifth season running and also retained the FAWNL Cup. The Blues also won the Championship play off to complete a historic quadruple.

The Club’s application for promotion to the FA Women’s Championship was subsequently accepted. Rovers will be playing in the second tier of women’s football for the 2019/20 season.
