This is a fantastic professional development opportunity for Mrs Tate and we wish her all the best with her appointment. Mrs Perren and Mrs Tate are intensely collaborating to ensure continuity of learning for the students in the K-1 class. Mrs Stevens is taking leave for the remainder of the term. Information update request
A white note was sent home last week requesting families to update or confirm family details. This is very important for our school to be able to contact you when required but also to ensure the correct amount of funding is received by our school each year.
Please return these forms this week. Thank you for your cooperation with this administrative task.
No Assembly or Canteen this week
The weekly Friday assembly will recommences in Week 3. No Friday assembly this week due to the swimming carnival. Canteen will also commence next week on Friday.
2019 Captains Induction
On Friday 22nd February (Week 4) our school will induct the 2019 Blakebrook Public School Captains at our afternoon assembly.
Please arrive at 2:50pm for a 3:00pm start. Badges will be presented at this assembly. Captains are Georgia and Wendell.
P&C The next P&C meeting will be held on Monday 18th February (Week 4) starting at 5:45pm in the library. I encourage all parents and caregivers to come along to this meeting and have a say in your child’s education and to keep informed about programs running within the school.
Issues and Questions From time to time issues or questions arise within our school community. You are encouraged to meet with me to discuss these at any time by making a short appointment time. I have an open door policy and would rather talk openly about circumstances or reasons for decisions, than for ‘rumours’ to build within the community which are often not based on the truth or facts. Terania District Swimming Carnival This event is being held at the Lismore Memorial Pool tomorrow, Friday 8th February. A blue permission note with further details has been sent home and should have been returned to school. The carnival is open to all children who are 8 years and above in 2019. Most of the events are 50m however there are events for students who cannot swim 50 metres. I encourage all students to come along and compete or cheer for our competing students. Good luck to all swimmers. Transport is by private car.
Have a great week and an enjoyable term, Allan Duroux

CANTEEN
Lunch orders will need to come in with your child on Thursday mornings in a brown paper bag clearly
written with the order they require, name and class. This bag will be collected on Thursday morning on
their arrival to school. It is the parents/guardian’s responsibility to send the order in on a brown lunch bag
to make it easier to distribute the orders the following day at canteen. The brown bags are not supplied by
the P&C or the school. They are available for purchase at supermarkets. Please place the exact or close to
the exact amount of money in the bag for payment of the order. If your child requires change it will be
placed in the bag and returned with the child’s order at canteen on Friday. Extras such as Moosies,
popcorn and yogurts etc can be pre-ordered on the brown lunch bag. Please note that it makes it a lot
easier if you can provide the correct money (or as close as possible). Sending large notes to school is
unsafe.
