Blue Jeans Network Service
Geographical Locations
Blue Jeans has built a fully redundant network infrastructure to support our global cloud service. The
service is hosted in multiple tier-1 co-location data centers around the world. This document highlights
the geographical locations, redundancy, and call routing around the Blue Jeans Network service.
The Blue Jeans cloud-based service provides an instant, easy, and scalable video conferencing platform
with instant deployment, a globally distributed architecture, and robust end-to-end encryption for all
meetings in the cloud. Blue Jeans developed, owns, and operates the infrastructure. The solution
eliminates costly maintenance contracts and upgrades, while reducing IT burden with no on-premise
hardware or software to manage.
Blue Jeans has several
Points of Presence (POPs)
distributed globally. The
voice and video media will be
automatically directed to the
closest POP to the endpoint
or media egress point. Audio/
video traffic will be routed
to any of our tier 1 data
centers in US, EU, Australia
or Asia based on geographic
location.

Global Redundacy
Call Routing
Blue Jeans runs its own BGP routing sessions with 3 or more internet backbone providers in each
location to provide redundancy in routing as well as route optimization to and from different networks.
Blue Jeans has different components of the solution deployed in a distributed fashion across multiple
nodes and across multiple data centers.
The calls are routed based on their source IP and geo-location, which enables users to connect to the
closest point of presence. The media flows between data centers via the Blue Jeans secure backbone,
and the PoP location for the meeting host provides the transcoding, compositing, and video switching.
