Having recently moved to Loudoun County, I am hoping to continue a tradition of serving my local government and respective communities by seeking out opportunities that would allow me to share my time and relevant experience(s) with the overall community. In researching the available opportunities, I noted that there are currently four open positions on the Building Code and Appeals Board. This would be of particular interest to me as I have over two decades of experience in the areas of architecture and real estate development, and recently served a three-year term on a Board of Adjustment in eastern NC. In addition, I have extensive experience in working with jurisdictions and their associated entitlement processes, as I have represented Costco Wholesale for nearly a decade as their architect and real estate development manager. I am interested in a position on the Heritage Commission as the Broad Run District representative because I am committed to the dissemination of knowledge about the history and heritage of our county and our own past. We must protect the structures, buildings, and land that helped to create Loudoun County. By preserving the history of the county, it not only helps citizens know where the county has been but also directs where it is going. People come from all across the country to see these sites, and they need to be preserved, not only for the citizens, but for the tourism. Loudoun County has become my home, and I would like to preserve and protect its history and heritage. This is why I feel I would be a great fit for this position.
