JANET MITCHKO (Margot) Aside from being the Co-Artistic Director of The Public Theatre, Janet has spent much of the past 20 years in creative heaven as both a director (The Last Romance, Hound of the Baskervilles, Visiting Mr. Green, etc) and actress (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Good People, Time Stands Still, Almost, Maine. Enchanted

April, etc), and is proud to call The Public Theatre her artistic home. Prior to life in Maine, Janet lived in NYC earning her living as a professional actress, voice-over talent, and director as well as teaching acting at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She is a graduate of the acting program at Carnegie-Mellon University, and the extremely proud mother of Emily.

TARAH FLANAGAN (Tate) is delighted to return to The Public Theatre. Other Public Theatre credits: Private Lives, The Nerd, Almost Maine, 13th of Paris, and The Language Archives. New York Theatre: The Mint Theatre, Looking Glass Theatre, and off-Broadway in the title role of The Little Prince, directed by Kim Martin-Cotten at the Pearl Theatre. Regional

Theatre: Actor's Theatre of Louisville, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Cincinnati Playhouse, Crossroads Theatre, Eugene O'Neil Theatre, Fulton Theatre, Pioneer Theatre, Studio Arena Theatre, and the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (title role in St. Joan). She is a company member and Artistic Associate at the Great River Shakespeare Festival. Film/TV: Mother's Book-directed by Keith Joseph Atkins; PBS series, Futurestates; As the World Turns; and Darwin: the Series- directed by Carrie Preston. Training: PCPA Theaterfest, Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University (BFA) and the Alabama Shakespeare Festival (MFA) Tarah is a proud member of the Actors Equity Association.

BRIGITTE VIELLIEU-DAVIS (Connie) was last seen on The Public Theatre Stage in 2003 in Gun-Shy by Richard Dresser. She has also performed at Westside Arts, Hartford Stage, Ensemble Studio Theatre, City Theatre, Peccadillo, Bricolage, Portland Stage, Capital Rep, Urban Stages, Gulfshore Playhouse, The Drama League, 24 Hour Plays, Gorilla Rep, Irondale

Ensemble Project, and the Moscow Art Theatre; and on television in guest starring roles on Blue Bloods, Law & Order SVU, Gossip Girl as well as daytime dramas. Her award-winning 2014 short play, Fly Girl Fly, was recently published by Indie Theater Now, after being staged in theaters nation-wide. She is currently working on Little Home, her full-length play about marriage and gender roles (not necessarily in that order). She is a member of Dramatists Guild and Ensemble Studio Theatre and runs Imagination Lab, a project with seniors at The Actors Fund Home. www.brigitteviellieudavis.com

CARALYN KOZLOWSKI (Dory) is thrilled to make her debut at The Public Theatre. Having just closed a run of the The Merry Wives of Windsor at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, where she has played 16 principle roles in 11 seasons - favorites include Irina in Three Sisters, Olivia in Twelfth Night, Desdemona in Othello, Amanda in Private Lives, Ilona

in The Play's The Thing, Rosalind in As You Like It, and Lina Szczepanowska in Misalliance. She has worked extensively in regional theatres across the county, including Seattle Rep, South Coast Rep, Cal Shakes, The Old Globe, Barrington Stage, City Theatre, and in the Humana Festival at Actor's Theatre of Louiville. Off-Broadway credits include: The Milliner, Secrets of a Soccer Mom, The Odyssey, and Fair Game. Last year she toured nationally with Dirty Dancing. TV/Film: Practical Magic, Guiding Light, All my Children, Third Watch, Six Degrees, Numb3rs, Law & Order:SVU. BFA SUNY-Purchase.

JUDITH IVEY (Director) is a four-time Tony nominee and the recipient of the Tony Award and the Drama Desk Award for her portrayals in Steaming and Hurlyburly, the Obie Award for her performance in The Moonshot Tape, and countless others for her stage and film work. She can be seen in the recently released film, Big Stone Gap, and performed opposite

Helen Mirren in The Audience on Broadway this past spring. Judith has appeared in over 40 films and starred in four TV shows, most notably the last season of Designing Women. Her most recent stage directing credits are Chapatti at North Coast Rep in Solana Beach, CA and Jessica Dickey’s The Press Conference for Playing on Air, plays for the radio. Her other credits include Steel Magnolias and Carapace at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta (both nominated for a Bass Award), Our Suburb at Theatre J in Washington, DC, the musical, Vanities at the Pasadena Playhouse and Second Stage in NYC, The Butcher of Baraboo at the Second Stage Uptown Series, Fugue at the Cherry Lane Theatre, and Southern Comforts at Primary Stages in NYC. Judith directed Bad Dates both at the Northlight Theatre in Chicago and the Laguna Playhouse, Steel Magnolias at the Alley Theatre, More with Yeardley Smith at Union Square Theatre and the Falcon Theatre in Los Angeles. Other directing credits include Two for the Seesaw at the Westport Playhouse, The Go-For-It Guy at the Aspen Comedy Festival, and Soccer Moms at Fleetwood Stage and the Snapple Theatre in NYC where she worked with Caralyn Kozlowski.

NORM FOSTER (Playwright) has been the most produced playwright in Canada for the past 20 years. Born in Newmarket, Ontario and raised in Toronto, Norm attended West Hill Collegiate Institute and then went on to study Radio & Television at Centennial College in Toronto. Upon completion of his studies, he began a radio career that would span 25 years. In 1980 he ended his radio career in Fredericton, New Brunswick where he was introduced to the world of theatre. In 1982 he penned his first professionally produced play, Sinners. His next play, The Melville Boys would go on to be produced across Canada and the United States, including a well-received run off-Broadway in New York. Norm has produced over fifty plays, including The Affections of May, the most produced play in Canada in 1991.

CHRISTOPHER SCHARIO (Executive/Artistic Director) has been Artistic Director of The Public Theatre since 1993. His adaptation of A Christmas Carol, published by Dramatists Play Service in 1996, was developed for The Public Theatre and has enjoyed successful productions at professional and amateur theatres throughout the world.

In New York he directed for Roundabout Theatre, Westbeth Theatre, Spectrum Stage, American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Drama Project and Madison Avenue Theatre. Regional theatre directing includes Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Boulder Ensemble Theatre, Kentucky Repertory Theatre, Toledo Repertory Theatre and Millbrook Playhouse. He has acted Off-Broadway, on national tours, regional theater, summer stock, dinner theater, films, soaps and commercials. He has taught at Carnegie-Mellon University, University of Colorado, University of Tennessee, American Academy of Dramatic Arts, as well as privately in New York. He received a BFA in Acting from Ohio University and an MFA in Directing from Carnegie-Mellon University. LISA BRAGDON (Stage Manager) has been working as an AEA Stage Manager for over 20 years. She has worked at theaters big and small and loves working at The Public Theatre. Very proud to have the Public named Best Theatre in Maine by Down East Magazine three years in a row. Previous Theatres include Arena Stage in Washington D.C., The Huntington in Boston, The Barter in VA., and Portland Stage Company here in Maine. A Registered Maine Guide for the last 16 years she spends Summers guiding wilderness canoe trips for Winona Camp for Boys founded in 1908.

JIM ALEXANDER (Technical Director) has worked on theatre, dance, and opera productions from Maine to Missouri, and toured nationally and internationally. He lives in Harpswell with his partner Dawn and their sons, Max and Ewan, of whom they are abnormally proud. He has served as production manager for The Washington Revels and as master electrician at the Shakespeare Theatre Co., Washington Ballet, and Portland Stage. He has toured as lighting supervisor and production manager with theatre and dance companies including: The Flying Karamozovs, Netherlands Dance Theatre, Suzhuo Kunju Opera of Jiangsu Province, the National Ballet of China, and the Ballet Nacional de Cuba. KIT MAYER (Set Designer) is pleased to be returning to The Public Theatre for his 9th production. Previous designs include: Outside Mullingar, Tigers Be Still, Deathtrap, Fuddy Meers, Shirley Valentine, Sleuth, Rumors, and Steel Magnolias. A resident of western Wisconsin, he is the resident designer for the Commonweal Theatre in Lanesboro, MN as well as a member of the design faculty at Viterbo University in Lacrosse, WI. He is a founding member and designer for the Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre in Fairbanks, AK. His design work has been seen extensively through the upper Midwest and internationally in Australia, Canada, Germany, Monaco, and the UK. BART GARVEY (Lighting Designer) has served The Public Theatre in one capacity or another since its first season. He holds degrees from William & Mary and U. of Iowa. He’s particularly proud to have worked building sets here for Indoor/Outdoor, Miss Witherspoon, Rough Crossing, Communicating Doors, Three Days of Rain, & Dracula. He’s designed lights for over 50 professional productions and is particularly proud to have designed for Outside Mullingar; Red; Hound of the Baskervilles; Language Archive; Around the World in 80 Days; Enchanted April; Indoor/Outdoor; Magnetic North; Jekyll & Hyde; 13th of Paris; Almost,Maine; Woman in Black; Wind in the Willows; Red Herring; An Infinite Ache; Proof; Sideman; & Three Days of Rain. Bart has also worked on productions at Theater at Monmouth, Deertrees, Boothbay Opera, St. Lawrence, King’s Bridge, and Bates College. He thanks his beautiful & multitalented wife, Julie, for subsidizing this unplanned & otherwise impossible career in theatre. JONNA W. KLAIBER (Costume Designer) is thrilled to return to the Public Theatre for another fantastic production! Recent designs include: Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Good People, Hound of the Baskervilles, and Around the World in 80 Days. Jonna frequently designs costumes at the Theater at Monmouth and has recently worked

on productions at both the University of Maine and University of Southern Maine where she is a theatre department Alumna and occasional lecturer. Currently Jonna is on staff at Maine State Music Theatre as the Costume Rentals Assistant. She hopes you enjoy this play! JOHN MORRISON (Sound Engineer) is a freelance sound technician from Auburn. In addition to his work with The Public Theatre, John provides tech support to theater programs at Bates and Bowdoin Colleges. Other recent theater credits include sound design for Urinetown with Yarmouth High School Playmakers and sound mixing for Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson at Colby College. It is unlikely that anyone recalls John’s audio contributions to the early 80’s New York productions of Taking Steam, The Smiling Assassins, or Mysteries of the Bridal Night. John is also the sound technician for Portland’s NBA D-League affiliate, Maine Red Claws. GUENEVERE FIGUEROA (Company Manager) is excited to be interning at The Public Theatre for the season. Recently graduating from the theater department at Bates College, she is happy to continue contributing to the artistic community in Lewiston/Auburn. MARGOT SPANU (Intern) is a junior at Bennington College studying Drama and Communications. She is an aspiring playwright/actor. Throughout her education, she acted in many productions at Bennington College including Don Juan by Molière, Far Away by Caryl Churchill and other small projects. Her play Les Maitres du Destain was presented in a puppet theatre in 2011. Other pieces of Margot’s writings have been read at Bennington College. OLIVIA KEANE (Intern) is assisting the Stage Manager for The Public Theatre’s production of The Ladies Foursome. She is a freshman at Bennington College. Some of the productions she has participated in include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Sound Of Music, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Little Women, Argonautica and Les Miserables. She is majoring in theatre and although she is mainly focused on acting, this experience has helped her learn various aspects of producing live theatre. GLYNNIS NADEL (Board Op) received a B.A. in Theater from Bates College in 2011, and has been active in Lewiston/Auburn theater since graduating. She was an intern at The Public Theatre, and can be found in numerous behind the scenes roles at Community Little Theatre. Most recently she directed Abundance at GypsyLew Theater Company.
