Committee Report Board of Ethical Review (BER) Value Statement The BER supports the goals of NSPE as the authoritative expert in the ethical practice in engineering by rendering impartial opinions on questions of ethics; by interpreting the NSPE Code of Ethics; by developing and publishing materials related to engineering ethics, and by conducting studies related to engineering ethics in order to enhance the value of licensure. Charges 1. Work with and communicate with key NSPE groups (NSPE State Society Leaders, State Society Executive Council, Professional Engineers in Higher Education, Young Engineers, etc.) to establish more effective outreach and encourage greater participation in the NSPE Milton F. Lunch Chapter Ethics Essay contest with the goal of achieving chapter participation by at least twenty (20) chapters. First Quarter Report (November 2014) Agenda item for December 4-5, 2014 BER Meeting Second Quarter Report (January 2015) Third Quarter Report (April 2015) Fourth Quarter Report (July 2015) 2. Publish twelve (12) NSPE BER Cases for use in the NSPE On Ethics Column in PE magazine and for use in the 2015 Spring Engineering Ethics Forum.
