2005 it was decided that the May 10, 1994, Board approved Mission Statement should be reviewed and

Mt. San Jacinto Community College will develop and maintain

a current Mission Statement.

A formal resolution follows this action item

BACKGROUND:

At the September 14, 2000 Board of Trustees meeting, Item No. 2000/01-73, Approval of Zion’s Bank Loan

for Bookstores and Cafeteria, was authorized. Zions First National Bank requires Board of Trustees’

approval of the attached “Resolution of Governing Body” as part of the loan package.

As reported in the September 14, 2000 Board Agenda, the fixed rate quoted for a 7-year loan in the amount

of $600,000 was 5.75%. Recent information from Zions Bank indicates that a fixed loan would have to be

collateralized and paid out in total. The fixed loan would also entail additional paperwork and expense such

as title insurance and county recordings. An alternate line of credit with an adjustable rate of 6.84% would

allow for partial draws on an as needed basis resulting in interest only on the outstanding balance and less

required documentation and expense.

It is requested the Board of Trustees approves the attached Zions Bank Resolution and the variable rate loan.

SUPERINTENDENT/PRESIDENT’S RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board adopt the resolution.

BUDGET IMPLICATIONS:

Repayment of the loan will be with bookstore and cafeteria revenue.
