Session 16: Adaptive Learning with Math Room: EPAC 8 Presenter(s): Dr. Zach Wissner-Goss and Mr. Eric Crutchfield Description: “Adaptive learning" is a hot field (and, admittedly, a buzzword) that includes both adaptive assessments and adaptive content. Compared to traditional testing, adaptive assessments offer more insights about students in less time. With the rise of MOOCs, YouTube, iTunesU, digital textbooks, and adaptive platforms managing all of this content, see how to build better content, create and improve adaptive lessons guided by student analytics. Session 17: BLACKBOARD: Flipping the Classroom Using Collaborate Room: EPAC 14 Presenter(s): Mr. Wade Fields, Blackboard Customer Success Advocate Description: The session will Identify the Collaborate™ options that support a hybrid or online flipped classroom. Session 19: Engagement in STEM: MICUP, LSAMP, REBUILD and RCNs Room: EPAC 9 Presenter(s): Dr. Andrew Feig and Dr. Curtis Greene Description: The future of the workplace depends on a talent based of knowledge in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This workshop will discuss opportunities provided at the District for our students. This session will address how community colleges are working to close barriers to career opportunity and success for racial and other minorities. Session 22: Credentials to Careers: Guided Pathways Room: TBA Presenter(s): Dr. Frank Dunbar and Ms. Shawna Forbes Description: This session will brief participants on innovations being introduced by WCCCD and other community colleges to guide students through the process of earning credentials and advancing in their careers. to ask written questions or submit writing assignments for feedback. The Graduation Progress System (GPS) helps students and advisorsmonitor progress towards degree and certificate completion.

Room: EPAC 10Presenter: Dr. Ella Jean DavisDescription: Colleges throughout the nation are redesigning developmental courses

with support from the Accelerated Learning Project. This session willfeature practical issues in establishing ALP at institutions; pathways toincreasing completion and closing achievement gaps for non-STEMstudents; non-cognitive issues in the classroom; integrating andaccelerating math, reading and writing; and how ALP helps pushpedagogy in positive directions.

Session 11: Mentor Mentee RelationshipRoom: EPAC 2Presenter(s): Dr. Christian NwambaDescription: A culturally responsive training with established and validated

standards for effective mentoring relationships. Mentorships thatdirectly address diversity, inclusivity and culture will be presented. This workshop will share resources from the National ResearchMentoring Network (NRMN).
