• Insulators o SMT Connectors • Either Polyamide 6T or LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer), both suitable to withstand increased temperatures of lead free solder processes.

o Through Hole Connectors • Insulators produced in Polyamide 6T as standard, this is suitable for withstanding high temperature wave and refl ow RoHS solder processes.

• Male Pins and Female Contacts: o Manufactured using base material of either: Brass or Phosphor bronze depending on product range. • Brass: ▪ Lowest cost. ▪ Good spring properties and strength. ▪ Reasonably good conductor. • Phosphor bronze: ▪ Good strength and conductivity. ▪ Superior elasticity. ▪ Excellent fatigue resistance.

Plating and Materials

• Plating: o Base pins and contacts under-plated with nickel.

o Final layer of metal plating added to allow improved conductivity, high temperature protection and provide resistance to corrosion and wear. • Plating materials: Finish plating is available in variants of gold and/or tin. ▪ Gold: ▪ Excellent corrosion resistance and durability. ▪ Excellent conductivity and low resistance. ▪ General Rule: Use thicker gold for applications above 100 cycles and less than 1 Amp. ▪ Tin: ▪ Excellent solderability and conductivity. ▪ Low durability and can form an oxide fi lm. • Plating options: ▪ Various levels of gold thickness available. ▪ Options for gold in contact area and tin in solder area (selective plating). ▪ Gold fl ash is GradConn’s standard plating, it’s the most economical and carries the lowest MOQ. ▪ Tin Plating: Bright or Matt tin. • See www.gradconn.com for detailed product drawings.

I-PEX are a high quality Japanese manufacturer (established 1984). Customers should test samples

to approve the use of I-PEX connectors, however GradConn have many satisfi ed customers who

previously used major brands. GradConn use original I-PEX tooling.

Popular choices for the opposite end of micro cables are SMA female, RP SMA and FME male bulkhead

connectors; These options allow customers to mount the interface connectors to a bulkhead through a cut out

hole and plug in an antenna or further extension cable on the opposite side of the bulkhead.

• Micro RF Connectors:

o Hirose: H.FL, U.FL and W.FL.

o Murata: GSC and HSC.

o I-PEX:

▪ I-PEX MHF: Compatible with Hirose U.FL.

▪ I-PEX MHF 2: Compatible with Hirose U.FL with 0.80mm Ø.

▪ I-PEX MHF 3: Compatible with Hirose W.FL.

▪ I-PEX MHF 4: Compatible with Murata HSC.

o Sunridge MCF: Compatible with Murata GSC.
