Our Mission

At Komen Chicago, our mission is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering others, ensuring quality care for all, and energizing science to find the cures.

In Chicago, there is a large disparity between treatment and survivorship. Since 2011, breast cancer mortality is 40% higher in African-American women compared to Caucasian women. Also, African-American women and Latinas are more likely to be diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer than Caucasian women. We ask for your support to help us improve breast cancer healthcare for all in Chicagoland.

At this inaugural event, Komen Chicago will celebrate individuals who have FIRED UP the Chicagoland community by helping to:

• Even the playing field for those in our community who do not have the resources and access to optimal treatment • Fund and conduct breast cancer research

At our celebration, we are honoring exceptional leaders who lead the fight to ensure quality healthcare for all and who seek to find cures for this devastating disease. In addition, the evening will celebrate breast cancer survivors and memorialize those that we have lost. The beautiful lobby columns will be bathed in pink light and feature large banners showcasing those who have benefitting directly from services provided through Komen Chicago support. Prior to the dinner, there will be a special VIP reception for the honorees and special invited guests.
