"The Ancient Book of ormulas!" an out of print! publicdomain magical formulary! was posted to usenet in ### by$aurie Brandt %brandtfamily&sprintmail.com'! for which manypeople will be (ery grateful.

The edition of "The Ancient Book of ormulas" which $auriescanned is a reprint by )orene Publishing %of Te*as'! of abook which had originly been published by +racle Products,orporation % ew ork' in #/0 and then and by )orenePublishing % ew ork'. The original edition and some of theearlier reprints ha(e the +racle Products ,orporationmonogram %+P,' on the back co(er! e(en after +P, was nolonger the publisher. $aurie1s copy was missing two pages!but since she had done so much work in scanning and postingalready! i added those two pages from my own copy.

"The Ancient Book of ormulas" is a workbook for customerswho were at the time of original publication able to buy thenamed ,ompounds and Bou2uets %3tock +il Blends' from the +P,and use them to make up their own dressing oils! incense!and so forth at home. This method of marketing blends ofessential oils was apparently not succesful! for the +P,went out of business sometime during 44 55. The proportionsand subsidiary ingredients and colouring agents gi(en in therecipes are great -- but you still need formulas of your own

The uncredited author of "The Ancient Book of ormulas" wasthe same man who wrote se(eral other books under the names$ouis de ,laremont and $ewis de ,laremont! most notably!"Legends of Incense, Herb, and Oil Magic," which was first

published by +P, in #67! then by )orene in a re(isededition in #68! further re(ised in #77. 5f you1(e read"Legends," you will find in it references to "The AncientBook of ormulas." There was also a third companion (olumein this series! "The Ancient Book of 9agic!" also by thepseudonymous 9r. de ,laremont. Two other te*ts by the sameauthor are "3e(en 3teps to Power" and "3e(en eys to Power."

Although de ,laremont1s other titles ha(e been mostly keptin print! "The Ancient Book of ormulas" went out of printlong ago due to the frustrating lack of a(ailablity of the+P, compounds needed to actually complete the formulas itonly describes in part. sed copies sell for between < =.00and =.00 in the o.p. book market! depending on conditionand edition.
