Introduction -- GPN of AIESEC SWUFE The national project "Green Power Now" is themed by sharing and
analyzing environmental problems all over the world, and is now held
by many LCs in China.
GPN of AIESEC SWUFE, located in Sichuan Province, is aimed at
helping the youth to get a better understanding on environmentalism
as well as developing their green leadership gradually. We volunteers
are supposed to give instructions on what urgent situation our
environment is faced with, and give them guidance on how to analyze
these problems, how to state and share their original ideas in
teamwork, and most importantly – how to put their green schemes into
practice.
·Project Description
Part 1: Explore China (April 10th ~ May 10th)
We will visit quiet a lot cultural places such as the Chengdu Giant
Panda Breeding Base, Jinli Ancient Street and Sichuan Opera House.
You’ll surely have an unforgettable cultural tour.
We will visit 2 to 3 NGOs, such as An Long Cun Urban River
Association, China Bear Sanctuary and Ai Zhi Jia Animal Rescue
Center; besides, we’ll have cooperation with specialists from these
NGOs.
For this time, we’ll participate in the “Low Carbon Cycling” -- you’ll
like the idyllic scenery here in suburb of Chengdu.
You can choose to experience some more landscapes (like
Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historical Interest Area -- the fairy tale
world in Sichuan) or to go outing at Ecological Countryside.
Part 2: Green Cup (April 18th ~ May 3rd)
We will have a deep cooperation with Shishi Middle School. For
these three weeks, you will be a close friend to our students rather
than just an instructor.
To develop their green leadership, we’ll make students be their own
conductors and controllers to carry out their original social practice
surveys, and your main job is to help them with drafting a practical
scheme.
You’ll be a participant and a pusher, helping students of SHISHI
Middle School to carry out their social surveys and green schemes,
mainly themed with environmental protection, for instance, helping
them with a survey on water quality of Fu Nan River, which means
there will be plenty of outdoor activities.
Part 3: Living library (April 18th ~ May 3rd)
We’ll organize several small living libraries in different middle
schools. You can choose to share some environmental points to
students, which usually lasts for a whole afternoon.
The sharing content may include introductions of various facets
about your country, your experience in NGOs, your ideas related to
environmental protection in China and your country.
All in all, you’re supposed to give a deep talk on a popular national
environmental topic; inspiring students to have deep realization on
how to protect our environment as well as letting them know how to
develop green living habits in daily lives.
