BASIC RULES

COMPOSITION TEAM

A. A player may not represent more than one club in the FINA World Masters Championships. However, a player may represent the same club on two teams in FINA World Masters Championships.

B. If a club entered has players on more than one team in the FINA World Masters Championships, then each of these teams must have at least nine players that are only on the roster for that team. The nine designated players are to be listed on the roster with the number they will wear in the competition, with an asterisk (*) next to the number.

C. In case that a player playing in more than one team within the same club and both teams are scheduled to play at the same time in the competition, then the player playing on two teams can only be declared on the roster for one team at that scheduled time.

D. Women players may be members of men's teams.

E. Each team shall consist of seven players, one to be the goal keeper, and not more than eight reserves may be used as substitutes, listed on the game roster, which must be submitted to the official’s table for each game not less than 45 minutes before each game commences . All players listed on the game roster will be eligible to play in the game. After the games has commenced, a team playing with less than seven players shall not be required to have a goal keeper.

COMPETITION FORMAT CRITERIA

A. Seven days of competitions with the sixth and seventh days reserved for matches that will decide the final ranking.

B. The competition format will be designed not only to decide the medal winners, but also to assure that each team competing will play a minimum of four or five games and that each place will be decided by competition.

CLASIFICATION

A. The classification of teams in the preliminary round will be made on points namely two (2) points for each match won, one (1) point for each match drawn and zero points for each match lost.

B. If a team declares a forfeit is disqualified for one (1) match, the match shall be awarded to the opponent with a goal score 5 - 0.

C. If two (2) teams shall have equal points in preliminary rounds, further classification shall be established as

follows: 1. the team winning the game between them shall be placed higher;

2. if the game between them was tied, then the first comparison shall be based on goal difference in the game between them, and if still tied, then based on goals scored;

3. if the comparison is still tied, all results within the group shall be used to determine the highest placed and then the comparison shall be based on goal difference in preliminary round, and if still tied, then based on goals scored in preliminary round;

4. if still tied, classification shall be established by lot. D. Quarter-final, semi-final and final games must be played to a conclusion, accordingly it may be necessary to

apply FINA Water Polo Rules regarding extra time. E. If still tied, the teams shall shoot penalty shots to determine which team shall be the winner applying FINA Water

Polo Rules.

ACCREDITATION AND TECHNICAL MEETING In order to collect your accreditation card, you are kindly requested to present at the Accreditation Center your ID code, your personal document (passport, id card, driving licence) and the liability form signed which you can download from www.finamasters2012.org Warning: if you didn't upload a correct portrait ph otograph, you should bring one with you and give it at the accreditation desk. Technical meeting will be on day 2 June at 15.00 in Catering Area.

COMPETITION FORMAT The teams shall play one round-robin in preliminary round, followed by a semi-final round, with the first-ranked team playing the fourth-ranked team, and the second-ranked team playing the third-ranked team. The losers of the semi-final round shall play in the final round to decide third and fourth places; the winners of the semi-final games shall play in the final round to decide first and second places.

AGE GROUP 35+ / 40+

COMPETITION FORMAT The teams shall play one round-robin in preliminary round, followed by a semi-final round, with the first-ranked team playing the fourth-ranked team and the second-ranked team playing the third-ranked team. The teams of each age group shall play in the final match to determine first and second places of age group.

COMPETITION FORMAT Each team shall play the other two teams twice in one double round-robin. At the Technical Meeting the teams should agree on to play either periods of 7 minutes (as for 45+) or 6 minutes (as for 50+).

The third-ranked team of group A and fourth-ranked teams of groups B and C shall play one round-robin for ninth through eleventh places.

COMPETITION FORMAT There shall be 4 groups, 3 teams in groups A and B, 5 teams in groups C and D. The teams shall play one round-robin within their group. At the end of preliminary rounds the first-ranked teams in each group will advance to semi-finals and finals for first through fourth places playing in a crossover format. The other teams will play straight finals in a crossover format for fifth through eighteenth places (look at the General Schedule below).

COMPETITION FORMAT There shall be 4 groups, 3 teams in groups A and B, 4 teams in groups C and D. The teams shall play one round-robin within their group. First and second-ranked teams of each group will advance to quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals for first through eighth places playing in a crossover format. The third-ranked teams will advance to quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals for ninth through twelfth places playing in a crossover format. The fourth-ranked teams of groups C and D will play twice final matches for thirteenth and fourteenth places.

The third-ranked teams will play final for fifth and sixth places. The fourth-ranked teams will play final for seventh and eighth places. The fifth-ranked teams will play final for ninth and tenth places
