the

at

least , than I had to have an operation.

had been hoarse almost a year. The family Dr. said

i t

was

s t ress

in

connection with our divorce proceedings .

After

my

move to Opblabbeek

and relat ively

more calm

in the si tuat ion

my voice

got noticably

worse. I went

to

a

special ist

and

he

ordered

There

was a

tumor

detected

on

my

thyroid

gland and 10 days

after final diagonosis

I was

operated

on

Both glands had to be removed

since

i t was malignant and

pressed

on the nerve of one side

of

my voice box

causing

paralization giving

early warning

of the intrusion.

healthy

side

will , however,

slowly

take over some of the

activity

of

the

can

expect

some

change

with

time.

In

the

meantime, my

voice is

s t i l l somewhat

hoarse,

distorted

and lots weaker. I can hardly sing, and

have to

talk

rather

slowly, carefully

which is

rather

tiresome.

On

the whole

I m

healing

quickly and

have my color

back

and

am feeling

great

BESIDES

THE OPGLABBEEK CONGREGATION

knowing,

I

sent

notes requesting prayer to

a few congregations and

brethern

in Europe.

I

have been absolutely

overwhelmed

with

the care

and concern from folks as far as

Brusse ls and

Roeselare

in

Belgium and

the

Netherlands.

I t

has been humbling,

yet very

encouraging to see

how

the

body

of Christ has ral l ied for the

weaker member. I

have

personally never experienced

such,

and

am jus t

praising

God in thanks

and

amazement.

having

some

s e t backs in connection

with

a

misunderstanding with the

This s t o r y

was shared

by a

sis ter

of

the

English

speaking congregation in

Brussels

where she and her

husband

minister.

They came origionally to Belgium

as

refugees,

but

have grown

in their

s p i r i t u a l

l ives

and are

being used

of

God

in a mighty way.

What

a privilege to

enjoy

His

blessings and be able to share them with you

as

well.
