Alley on Eighth Street resulted in Botts death from six knife wounds The man who didthe killing Will Red Coleman formerly worked for Stuart OBrien as a concrete worker and were a gash about three inches long on the left side of the neck that sever ed the jugular vein and a deep cut on the wrist of the right arm cutting the arteries from which the man bled to death Four other cuts in the left side neck abdomen and in the left shoulder blade told how desperately the men foughtThe trouble commenced by Coleman Botts was with his wife Lizzie Cole man After several attempts to gain admission to the room the Arnold woman opened the door when Coleman searched the house He found his wife concealed behind the door As the woman ran out the door Coleman kick ed her into the street and she disap peared in the darkness Coleman then turned his attention to Botts and slashed him with a Barlow knife the blade of which is about three inches long Coleman claims that Botts at tempted to draw a gun before he cut him Botts fell upon the porch of the homse where he died few minutes after wardsOfficer Burke soon arrived upon the scene and placed Coleman under arrest tiary for shooting Joe Bush and
