Sometimes Ex- eter plays to the tone of being overmatched. The most recent example to that fact came last week. On the heels of a 94-58 loss at the Immanuel Eagles on Wednesday, Exeter lost to the Selma Bears 78-35 on Friday. “I don’t want my kids to lose hope,” Exeter head coach Luis Muro said. “But to play two de- fending Valley champions it is rough. But this tells us where we need to be.” The duo of William Pallesi and Tiveon Stroud for the Sel- ma Bears (13-8, 3-0) seemed unstoppable all night. From the perimeter Pallesi hit 6-10 three-point shots on his way to scoring 20 points. Then there was Stroud. The 6-foot-6 senior drove the basket at will on his way to a game leading 26 points. And by the time the first half came to a close Selma had a com- manding 48-17 lead over the Exeter Monarchs (6-11, 1-2). For much of the second half the Bears kept the pressure on by keeping their starting five in the game. In the open- ing minutes of the third quar- ter Tiveon got a couple loose balls in the open court. With his frame both ended in dunks to give him five on the night. Fouled on the second dunk he made the free throw attempt to make the score 53-17. “This week was one of our toughest,” Muro said. “You can tell by the way they play that they are on a different level.” Despite being overmatched Exeter went on a 7-0 run to make the score 58-25 in the middle of the third quarter. Aydan Albanez scored five of those points surprisingly in- side the key. Shortly after that the frus- tration that Exeter experi- enced all night returned. Even against Selma’s bench players Exeter sent errant passes to- ward the inside, or seemed to just lose control of the ball. Then there was the game against the Immanuel Eagles last Wednesday night. Against the D-IV Valley champions the Monarchs were able to break the 50-point barrier. Blake Crookshanks led all Monarchs with 18 points. The lopsided result came from the fact that Exeter was at a height dis- advantage. All but two of the Eagles’ 12 players are listed over six feet tall. It is safe to say with these results a CSL title is out of the grasp of the Monarchs this season. With the first round of league drawing to an end, and with these types of results Exeter’s best finish seems like third. As defeated as that may sound Muro is still optimis- tic about this season. Already having doubled the amount of wins from last year he is con- fident that his team will play to the end. This week Exeter has two matchups more of their cali- ber. Last night they hosted the Central Valley Christian Cava- liers. The game happened af- ter press time. Both teams en- tered the game tied for third in the CSL. On Thursday Exeter will travel to Dinuba to play the Emperors at 7:30 p.m. Back-to-back losses to Valley Champions Selma and Immanuel send Exeter down the CSL ranks PATRICK DILLON/ @PDILLON_SGN Tiveon Stroud goes up for his fifth dunk of the night over Exeter’s Blake Crookshanks (35) at the Smith Gym. GIRLS SOCCER season are unheard of for a freshman. Even one who seems to have made the transition to the varsity level simple. Depending on how deep the Spartans go into the post-season she may score a 1,000 points this. A rare feat at the high school level. West make a move. First up was a game against the second place Hanford Bullpups. The game happened after press time. Gold- en West will play again tomor- row night on the road against the Hanford West Huskies. The Blazers’ game against the Huskies might be the most important of the second round of league. Currently Hanford West is winless in the WYL, and Golden West plays the first place Redwood Rangers on Feb. 2. They should not be looking past the Huskies, or very well might fall victim to a trap game. The first time the Rangers and the Blazers met on the pitch the outcome was decided by one goal. Redwood edged Golden West 2-1 with all three goals be- ing scored in the second half. In fact those two goals surrendered were the last scored against the Blazers in the past four games. 3. Gutierrez took a pass from Caesar down the right side for a hard layup to make the score 19-3. She was fouled on the shot but missed the free throw. She was the second Cardinal with Caesar to have 16 points, of which only three came from out- side the arc. Woodlake continued to dig themselves into a deficit through much of the second quarter. The biggest of which was 20-5. That was when senior Callie Vincent began to take over. “Vincent is always going to do what she can to put her team in a position to win,” Woodlake head coach Joe Torress said. Vincent scored 10 of the Ti- gers 14 points in the later part of the second quarter. Now only down 26-19 she continued to carry the Tigers through the rest of the game. In the third quarter she continually drove the lane. Which most of the time ended in a trip to the free throw line. In those trips Vin- cent went 4-7 on free throw attempts. Although as hard as Vincent might try it was not enough to pull her team back into the game. Even when Woodlake scored, Lindsay came right back down and scored themselves. The clos- est the Tigers got to the lead in the second half was 10 points. Lindsay will need their two- pronged attack this week as they look to take over sole pos- session of second. Tonight they take on the Corcoran Panthers at home. Lindsay remains home on Friday to host rival Strath- more. Unfor- tunately for Farmersville only one was theirs as they fell to Orosi 10-1. The loss left them in fourth place in the East Si- erra League. “It is back to the drawing board,” Farmersville head coach Rudy Cifuentez said. “Numbers wise we started off big, but since then we have dwindled down.” Five minutes into the game the Orosi Cardinals (19-0-2, 4-0) showed why they have not lost a game thus far this sea- son. On an attack up the far side of the field Mikala Mon- temayor sent a cross pass to- ward the penalty box. The per- fectly placed pass found the foot of charging Victoria Quevedo, who put it in the open net. However, the Farmersville Az- tecs (3-13, 1-3) seemed to be able to play with the defending ESiL Champions early on. When two minutes later Heidy Sanchez lobbed the ball into the goal to tie up the game 1-1. “[Sanchez] is going to be fun to watch over the next few sea- sons,” Cifuentez said. The tying goal by the sopho- more was set up by a series of throw-ins by the Aztecs. Which all came together in setting up the run along the near side of the field. Although, the rest of the successful offensive attacks were made by the Cardinals. Orosi scored three more goals in the first half to go into the locker room up 4-1. Shortly after the tying goal Montemayor got her only goal of the game. The entire second half be- longed to the Cardinals with Heroldin Hernandez flying above the rest of her team. She scored the next three goals for her team to complete the sec- ond half hat trick to make the score 7-1. All three goals were produced by outside runs by the Cardinals which finished with crossing passes toward the middle. Farmersville’s defense had a difficult time clearing loose balls inside their zone. Much of the time the Aztecs tried to dribble the ball out instead of kicking the ball away. Cifuentez says that it is their lack of numbers, and the fact that some players are leaning new positions that produced such poor defense. “We are young team also, and we are definitely sophomore stacked,” said Cifuentez. “This season is definitely a learning experience.” The fact that the Aztecs en- tered last Friday’s game with only 15 players cannot be over- looked. That number dropped by two for their matchup last Tuesday at the McFarland Cougars. The final score was reached after press time. One player was thought to have a concussion, and the other went out with a foot injury. In order to counter the dwin- dling numbers Cifuentez is considering bringing up the junior varsity team. He later added that it will help with depth in some positions. The Aztecs play again at Wonderful College Prep Acad- emy in Delano this Friday night at 4:30 p.m. If they lose to the Wolves, they stand a good chance of missing the post season for the first time in five years. Heidy Sanchez’s goal is lone bright spot in Farmersville’s 10-1 loss to the Orosi Cardinals PATRICK DILLON/ @PDILLON_SGN Janette Rodriguez misses a save on one of Orosi’s corner kicks during their 10-1 loss last Friday night at home. build some confidence. By the time Cisneros scored his goal the Monarchs had added two more. One was off a throw in by Josh Alfaro. Deep inside the Selma zone Alfaro threw the ball into the penalty box. It looked as if the ball was knocked away, but the re- bound was kicked in. “My players battled all the way to the end,” Renteria said. The Monarchs not only scored three goals in the sec- ond half, but held the Bears off the scoreboard. That was due in large part to the play of second string keeper Ty- ler Reser. Over the last four starts he has gone 3-1 with two shutouts. It has been a baptism by fire for Reser, and the Monarchs through their first four CSL games. The games will not get any easier now. Last night Ex- eter looked to stay in conten- tion as they hosted the Central Valley Christian Cavaliers. Final of that game happened after press time. Next up for the Monarchs is a showdown with the first place Dinuba Emperors on Thursday night beginning at 6 p.m.

exeter – It is no mystery that the Exeter Monarchs are in one of the toughest leagues in the area. Sometimes Ex-eter plays to the tone of being overmatched.

“But to play two de-fending Valley champions it is rough. But this tells us where we need to be.”

Then there was Stroud. The 6-foot-6 senior drove the basket at will on his way to a game leading 26 points. And by the time the first half came to a close Selma had a com-manding 48-17 lead over the Exeter Monarchs (6-11, 1-2).

For much of the second half the Bears kept the pressure on by keeping their starting five in the game. In the open-ing minutes of the third quar-ter Tiveon got a couple loose balls in the open court. With his frame both ended in dunks to give him five on the night.

Five minutes into the game the Orosi Cardinals (19-0-2, 4-0) showed why they have not lost a game thus far this sea-son. On an attack up the far side of the field Mikala Mon-temayor sent a cross pass to-ward the penalty box. The per-fectly placed pass found the foot of charging Victoria Quevedo, who put it in the open net.

However, the Farmersville Az-tecs (3-13, 1-3) seemed to be able to play with the defending ESiL Champions early on. When two minutes later Heidy Sanchez lobbed the ball into the goal to tie up the game 1-1.

“[Sanchez] is going to be fun to watch over the next few sea-sons,” Cifuentez said.

The tying goal by the sopho-more was set up by a series of throw-ins by the Aztecs. Which all came together in setting up the run along the near side of the field. Although, the rest of the successful offensive attacks were made by the Cardinals.

Orosi scored three more goals in the first half to go into the locker room up 4-1. Shortly after the tying goal Montemayor got her only goal of the game.

The entire second half be-

longed to the Cardinals with Heroldin Hernandez flying above the rest of her team. She scored the next three goals for her team to complete the sec-ond half hat trick to make the score 7-1.

“This season is definitely a learning experience.”

The fact that the Aztecs en-tered last Friday’s game with only 15 players cannot be over-looked. That number dropped by two for their matchup last Tuesday at the McFarland Cougars. The final score was reached after press time. One player was thought to have a concussion, and the other went out with a foot injury.

In order to counter the dwin-dling numbers Cifuentez is considering bringing up the junior varsity team. He later added that it will help with depth in some positions.

The Aztecs play again at Wonderful College Prep Acad-emy in Delano this Friday night at 4:30 p.m. If they lose to the Wolves, they stand a good chance of missing the post season for the first time in five years.

Heidy Sanchez’s goal is lone bright spot in Farmersville’s 10-1 loss to the Orosi Cardinals

build some confidence. By the time Cisneros scored his goal the Monarchs had added two more. One was off a throw in by Josh Alfaro. Deep inside the Selma zone Alfaro threw the ball into the penalty box. It looked as if the ball was knocked away, but the re-bound was kicked in.

“My players battled all the way to the end,” Renteria said.

The Monarchs not only scored three goals in the sec-ond half, but held the Bears off the scoreboard. That was due in large part to the play of second string keeper Ty-ler Reser. Over the last four starts he has gone 3-1 with two shutouts.

It has been a baptism by fire for Reser, and the Monarchs through their first four CSL games. The games will not get any easier now. Last night Ex-eter looked to stay in conten-tion as they hosted the Central Valley Christian Cavaliers. Final of that game happened after press time. Next up for the Monarchs is a showdown with the first place Dinuba Emperors on Thursday night beginning at 6 p.m.

NOTICE OF TRUST-EE’S SALENOTICE TO POTEN-TIAL BIDDERS: If you are considering bidding on this property lien, you should understand that there are risks in-volved in bidding at a trustee auction. You will be bidding on a lien, not on the property itself. Placing the highest bid at a trustee auction does not automatically entitle you to free and clear ownership of the property. You should also be aware that the lien being auctioned off may be a junior lien. If you are the highest bid-der at the auction, you are or may be respon-sible for paying off all liens senior to the lien being auctioned off, before you can receive clear title to the prop-erty. You are encour-aged to investigate the existence, priority, and size of outstanding liens that may exist on this property by contacting the county recorder’s office or a title insur-ance company, either of which may charge you a fee for this information. If you consult either of these resources, you should be aware that the same lender may hold more than one mortgage or deed of trust on this property.NOTICE TO PROP-ERTY OWNER: The sale date shown on this notice of sale may be postponed one or more times by the mortgagee, beneficiary, trustee, or a court, pur-suant to Section 2924g of the California Civil Code. The law requires that information about trustee sale postpone-ments be made avail-able to you and to the public, as a courtesy to those not present at the sale. If you wish to learn whether your sale date has been postponed, and, if applicable, the rescheduled time and date for the sale of this property, you may call (866)-960-8299 or visit this Internet Web site http://www.altisource.com/MortgageServices/DefaultManagement/TrusteeServices.aspx using the file number assigned to this case 2017-02293-CA.
