The previous music video was for the 1984 hit ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ by the glam metal band Twisted Sister. Twisted Sister were well known for their

quirky personalities and shock rock live material. They garnered attention quickly for their repeated airplay on MTV with this video and ‘I Wanna

Rock’. However, this was the video that made them into rock n’ roll superstars and was also the promotional single for their third and most

successful album to date, Stay Hungry.

WE’RE NOT GONNA TAKE ITTWISTED SISTER (1984)

The 1985 children’s film Pee Wee’s Big Adventure featured a cameo appearance from Twisted Sister, promoting a track

from the album, ‘Burn In Hell’.

Stay Hungry reached No. 15 in the Billboard’s Top 100 and stayed their for 53 weeks as a result of both repeated air time

on MTV and they’re promotional cameo in Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. They tapped into the music video boom, along with other successful artists such as; Peter Gabriel, Dire

Straits, The Buggles and Michael Jackson – without which, they may not of even exsisted today.
