Emílio Goledi Museum

Founded in 1866 and known world-wide as the most important centre for the study of and research into the natural history of the Amazon Rain Forest, the Emílio Goledi Museum, in Belém has more than two thousand species of plants and around six hundred animals that are native to Amazonia, living free or in captivity in an area covering 52 hectares. Lynxes, monkeys, macaws, parrots, sparrow-hawks, parakeets, vultures, wild fowl, alligators and a wide variety of fish, otters, turtles and snakes are amongst the residents. The flora has turned the area into a miniature Amazon rain forest. The Museum also has a lake resplendent with giant water lilies, a library specializing in material relating to Amazonia and a vast archaeological and ethnological collection including the different aspects of culture indigenous to the region.

The Amazon Youth Cello Choir

Belém – Pará - BrasilThe Amazon Cellists Cultural Academy seeks to offer a better cello music education to the children and youth from Belém do Pará where is located part of The Amazon Rain Forest. The Amazon Youth Cello Choir missions is:

1- Provide low cost cellos to children from low income families;2- Educate children in symphony and good popular music;3- Encourage and discover musical talent to pursue higher level of music education.

The Brazilian Foundation (BFA) was founded in New York in

early 2001 and San Francisco in 2005. New York and San Francisco are very active socially

organizing the BFA in Brazil and US. The two organizations have social programs offering assistance and guidance in education, residents, health, legal and psychological assistance. We have been successful in assisting Brazilians in the process of acculturation to the United States.

The Amazon Cellist Choir is our great accomplishment and exemplifies the BFA efforts.

The BFA is expanding their social programs and efforts to assist Brazilian communities in the United States and Brazil, and the preservation of the Rain Forest for our planet. We support popular sporting events such as the “Soccer for Peace with the United nations” and import cultural events such as an exhibition of the endangered species of the Amazon, and the native art of the Amazon natives.

Our goal is to give more opportunities for these minorities to improve their lives through better education, and health.

Your organization support is vital for the Brazilian Rain Forest, People, Species, Creatures and Music Project. As an sponsor you are also supporting the BFA social and cultural programs, such as the sister city efforts between San Francisco and Rio de Janeiro, the creation of a San Francisco Bay area Brazilian Chamber of Commerce , and efforts to establish a community center for inter active Brazilian and American cultural and social activities.

The Amazon Youth Cello has performed and received substantial praise internationally. Negotiations and sponsorship for performances in Los Angeles, and Orlando Disney World are ongoing. Sponsors will receive recognition and full acknowledgment of their assistance.

The BFA is working to expand the orchestral, social and cultural programs to other areas of the underprivileged people in Brazil and the United States.

With adequate funding for promotion of The Amazon Youth Cello Choir concerts, we hope to raise as much as $150,00 in each of the performance cities. Success will enable the realization of these goals.
