    Dear Friends and Family,

After an extraordinary 15 years ofserving the Mott Haven community ofthe South Bronx, at 471 East 140thst,

in the Basement, we are announcingthat Casa Atabex Ache will be officiallybe closing and moving out of its home.

It is with extremely sad hearts and tearsin our eyes that we say good bye to ourbeloved community and our home.

For 15 years we laughed, we cried, we healed and we celebrated locally, nationally andinternally women voices, minds, bodies and spirits.

For 15 years, we were a stand to end violence against women and the LGBTQcommunity heal the depths of the impact that it has on our communities, families andlives.

For 15 years, we trained, we learned, we loved, we created families and sisterhoods, andstood with autonomous communities and organizations from South America to the SouthBronx and everything in between and we celebrated their global power and resiliency.

For 15 years, we saw baby girls turn into beautiful young womyn, young womyn turn intocourageous young adults, and adult womyn turn into powerful wisdom elders andspiritual guides standing in their power and in their divine purpose taking over the world.

At first we resisted and we fought the loosing of our space but as the time has gotten closer, intrue Casa style we lit candles and prayed and we turned to spirit for answers. While this transitionis bitter sweet, we trust that it is right on time in and in divine order. There is no coincidence thatthis transition is happening in the Fall, a time dedicated to change, death and spirit.

For the past couple of weeks the collective of Casa and the community of Mott Haven havecome together to clean and pack. It has been one of the hardest things we have had to do so far.As we look through papers and pictures we are reminded of the power and the legacy that thisspace leaves both in this community and in all that have come to the space and used it as theirhome away from home. With tears in our eyes we want to say goodbye and say thank you forsharing your tears, joys, stories, and laughter with us, for trusting us to be your family, for trusting

us to raise your daughters, for trusting us with your deepest darkest fears and stories untold. ThisFall we celebrate you and acknowledge you because we could not have done 15 years withoutyou!

e do not know what the future holds for us but we want to give you the opportunity tojoin us in closing the space. In the next few weeks we are asking you, our community tosupport us in a couple of important ways
