Screenshots for each step are provided starting on page 6. Creating a New Course Plan My Notes 1 A course plan contains a list of suggested courses associated with a

specific career pathway. Having a course plan will help you prepare for your career goals. To create or edit a course plan, start by clicking on the Learn tab (the purple tab at the top of page) in Choices Explorer or Choices Planner.

You can print a course plan at any time by clicking on Print This in the top right corner of Your Course Plan.

2 Find the High School Planning box in the top right corner of the Learn page. Click on Course Plan Builder.

3 Editing your Master Plan You are now on the Course Plan Builder page. A Master Course Plan already exists here. It contains all your historical course data. It is NOT aligned to a district diploma type or Cluster/Pathway. Click Edit on the far right of Your Master Course Plan. To edit the courses in an existing plan: If you want to change the courses in an existing plan, go to Step 8.

Your Master Course Plan will serve as your high school course plan at ALDINE ISD. If you have already created course plans, they will also be listed here. Note you can also Print, Email, or Delete any of these plans.

4 You are now at the Course Plan Builder /Recommended Courses page where you will see the heading All Clusters. Click on the Career Cluster you want to use for your plan.

5 You are now on the Career Clusters – School Courses page. On the left side of the screen under Recommended Courses, you’ll see a listing of the programs of study that are available at Aldine ISD.

OPTION A – IF YOU LIKE THIS CLUSTER OR PATHWAY PLAN: If this is the Cluster Plan you want to follow, click on Add to Your Plan (at the top right of page), and your plan will be saved in your portfolio. Now, go to Step 7. OPTION B - IF YOU DON’T LIKE THIS CLUSTER PLAN: Click on Choose a different Cluster (at top right of page) and repeat 6A and 6B above until you find a Cluster plan you want to use. OPTION C - IF YOU’RE NOT SURE: Not sure? You can find out more about each cluster by clicking on the Introduction, Careers and Programs tabs on the top left of the page.

7 Once you’ve clicked on Add to Your Plan, you will see the grid containing Your Course Plan. You’ll find details of your Completed and Enrolled courses, broken down by subject area, for Grades 9 to 12. This is the starting point for your course plan. You are ready to start adding your Planned courses.

You can always change Planned courses; you can never change Completed or Enrolled courses. Notice the word NOTE in green font in some of the cells. This is a hover button –move the mouse over it and you’ll see important information about your course plan.

Go below Step 2 on the screen, and click on the Remove button to remove the inappropriate course(s). Now, go below Step 3 and scroll down to find the appropriate course (s).
