May has been a remarkable and inspira-
tional month.
The Chamber started with a co-op job
fair at Mineral Wells High School, featur-
ing 10 employers and 200 student job
seekers.
I hope you didn’t miss Leadercast. On
May 4, 60 attendees enjoyed a full day of
leadership training from the best in the
business. What inspired me as much as my
favorite speaker was the remarkable ser-
vice provided by our hosts and sponsors,
Link Field Services, Chick-fil-A of
Weatherford, and First State Bank.
Also this month, the Chamber presented
its first Health Policy Talk. Thank you so
much to our sponsors: Mineral Wells
Nursing and Rehab, Palo Pinto Nurs-
ing Center, IntegraCare Home
Health and Hospice, and Alpha
Omega Hospice. Spencer Harris of the
Texas Public Policy Foundation was a
straight shooter: He said the health care
law conceives of businesses not as the
wealth creators they are, but as financing
mechanisms for universal health coverage.
Thank you for your investment!

Saturday, June 2, is a busy day for
tourism, with 3 events scheduled. The
National Vietnam War Museum expects
500 at their 3rd Annual Updating of the
Memorial Wall ceremony, sponsored in
part by the Chamber. The purpose of this
event is to promote an understanding of the
Vietnam War while honoring those who
served. Vendor booths and war displays will
adorn the premises.
Frontier Day and the Car & Cycle show
are also scheduled to take place. Remember
to head over to Gracie’s Grill for catfish,
ribeyes, and Live Music after these
fun-filled events.
Rising Stars Art Gallery will be throwing a
Downtown Block Party on June 2 from
1- 6pm. featuring live music, food, a bounce
house, and vendor booths. Experience our
unique Downtown here in Mineral Wells!
Last but not least, Possum Hollow pre-
sents their 18th Annual “Night of Music &
Fire” the evening of June 30. Performers
include Cody Canada and the Departed, The
Thieving Birds, & Ashley Lee, and the fire-
works as always will be fantastic! Tickets
are available at the Chamber.
In other exciting tourism news, due to an
increase in the number of visitors, The
Fossil Park will be open every day, 8 am to
