The ARION 400.

Cleaning up.The new ARION 400 is ready to roll. With a wide choice of engine sizes and extensive new equipment, it is the right machine for every application and offers everything you could ever wish for.

Six different models cover a performance range from 85 to 140 hp (ECE R 120). The 4-cylinder FPT engine with 4.5 litre cubic capacity, four valves per cylinder, turbocharger and common-rail injection system with  1,600 bar injection pressure meets the Stage IV (Tier 4) emissions standard thanks to DOC and SCR. As a result, the new ARION 400 is the first machine in its performance range to meet this emissions standard.

But the new ARION 400 offers more than clean performance alone – maintenance of this tractor is child's play thanks to its intelligent design concept:

− Air filter in front of the radiator panels for easy access and extended cleaning intervals

− Fold-out radiator assembly with gas struts − Long oil-change intervals: 600 h (engine) and 1,200 h (transmission)

− Up to 190 litre fuel tank and 22 litre urea tank − Tool storage compartment to the right of the steps

QUADRISHIFT. 16 gears at the push of a button.With the QUADRISHIFT transmission you can drive within the four powershift speeds without cutting the power flow and can optimally match your forward speed to the conditions on the ground. On the road or around the farm, you can comfortably select any one of four hydraulically selected ranges without having to use the foot clutch. Ranges and powershift speeds are selected manually using the rocker switch on the new multifunction control lever, making range shifting with the clutch and gear lever a thing of the past. The new ARION 400 is far superior to other tractors in this performance class in terms of operation, efficiency and versatility.

Stable. Manoeuvrable. User-friendly. The CLAAS Tractor Concept.The new ARION 400 is an extremely robust and flexible tractor which makes your work as enjoyable as possible. Its solid frame with integral engine oil sump absorbs all the forces from the front linkage, front loader and front chassis. The front loader mounting bracket is fitted directly onto the engine frame and transmission, and the engine compartment and all the maintenance points are easily accessible. With its compact design and excellent steering lock angle, the new ARION 400 is also highly manoeuvrable.

Thanks to the new ARION 400, the technology from the larger performance class is now available to smaller farms.

The CLAAS Tractor Concept brings some clear advantages which give you a clear competitive edge: a long wheelbase for more tractive power, a short overall length for greater manoeuvrability and an optimum weight distribution (50% at the front, 50% at the rear).

The frame allows a very tight turning lock even with front loader fittings.

A comfortable working environment.The front and rear linkages both have vibration damping. The driver's seat is also available with mechanical or air suspension as well as low-frequency air suspension – enabling the driver to concentrate on the job in hand without feeling uncomfortable even in the toughest working conditions.

Three hydraulic circuits available. Integrated front linkage.

With the new ARION 400 you can choose between three different hydraulic circuits: an open hydraulic circuit with a hydraulic flow of 60 or 98 l/min and a closed hydraulic circuit with 110 l/min and load sensing. In addition, up to three mechanical or four electronic spool valves are available. Two further spool valves are available for front loader control. They are operated either electronically or by means of a hydraulically pilot-operated valve on the multifunction control lever. The hydraulics on the ARION 400 can therefore be perfectly matched to the needs of your farm.

For safe, efficient work you need a powerful connection between the tractor and implement. The linkages on the new ARION 400 provide an excellent starting point. The compact, fully integrated front linkage has a maximum lifting capacity of 2.8 t. It also has external controls (only with CIS with electronic spool valves). The same applies to stop actuation for the 1,000 rpm front PTO. One spool valve and an open return line can also be specified.

Hydraulics

Powerful rear linkage.The electronic rear linkage has a maximum lifting capacity of 5.75 t and manual or automatic lower link stabilisers. The external controls for the rear linkage and PTO are located on both mudguards. Practical ball holders are also provided at the rear.

The rear linkage is easy to control using the new multifunction control lever or the new control panel in the right-hand console where you can also adjust the working depth.

6-pillar cab. Four cab versions.The innovative 6-pillar cab was developed in collaboration with farmers from all over Europe. It allows you to work comfortably even during long working days and will suit even the most demanding of drivers. It provides optimum visibility and maximum protection as well as a very high level of comfort.

CIS supports the driver.The new multifunction control lever makes control of the transmission, rear linkage, front loader and spool valves more straightforward and user-friendly than ever, so you only need your left hand for steering and to operate the REVERSHIFT lever when changing direction. Your right arm lies comfortably on the armrest while you control all the functions of your ARION 400 logically and conveniently with the new multifunction control lever. And what's more, you can also use the multifunction control lever to operate two spool valves with either a hydraulically pilot-operated valve or an electronic control system.

In the new ARION 400 CIS it is also very easy to set a number of other functions via the rotary/push switch and ESC button on the CIS display so that you can use them to their full potential:

Flow rate and time control for each electronic spool valve are easily adjusted via the CIS. During use, the flow rate delivered increases gradually depending on the position of the rocker switch or multifunction control lever. When time control is set, it is activated when the rocker switch or multifunction control lever has reached 60% of the maximum distance.
