Mark 2:1-12 …that they were all amazed, and

glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this

fashion”

Page 14: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

Business of the church is to bring sinners to

Jesus.We should be placing

great emphasis on reaching the lost.

Page 15: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

THERE WAS A CROWDMark 2:2

The place was full of people.

1. A Few Observations:

Page 16: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

Mark 2:2 “And straightway many were gathered

together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the

door: and he preached the word unto them”

Page 17: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

Lets focus on the four that brought

the sick of the palsy to Jesus.

Page 18: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

THE FOUR WERE COMMITTED

2. A Few Observations:

Page 19: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

Mark 2:4 “And when they could not come nigh unto

him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he

was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of

the palsy lay”

Page 20: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

They could not gel in for the multitude.

Now they’ve messed up--- tore a portion

of the roof off.

Page 21: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

1 Pet 2:23-25 “Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered,

he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: Who his own self bare…

Page 22: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

that we, being dead to sins, should live unto

righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going…

Page 23: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

1 Pet 2:23-25 …astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of

your souls?”

Page 24: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

2 Tim 1:12 “For the which cause I also suffer these things:

nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have

believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that

which I have committed unto him against that day”

Page 25: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

2 Cor 5:19 “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling

the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses

unto them; and hath committed unto us the word

of reconciliation”

Page 26: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

He that committeth sin is of the devil!

Page 27: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

1 John 3:8 “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil

sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God

was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil”

Page 28: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

1 John 3:4 “Whosoever committeth sin

transgresseth also the law: for sin is the

transgression of the law”

Page 29: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

John 8:34 “Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,

Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin”

Page 30: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

The four were committed to doing saving a soul.

Others are committed to serving sin.

Page 31: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

Mark 2:5 “When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy

Page 33: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

Mark 2:5 … and reasoning in their hearts. Why doth

this man thus speak blasphemies? who can

forgive sins but God only?”

Page 34: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

Some are not very helpful toward God’s command

to reaching the lost. These four men thought

about someone else besides themselves.

Page 35: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

Psa 37:5 “Commit thy way unto the

LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass”

born of God”

borne of four”

Page 41: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

The people that should be reached are considered spiritually

handicapped or crippled.

Page 42: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

Open your eyes… the fields are white

already unto harvest!

God only?”

Page 45: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

The critical are not all dead yet!

We might as well get use to being criticized.

Note: If they criticized our Lord, why not us?

Page 46: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

Though they are few thank God for

them. Compassion is a great

motivating power.

Page 49: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

What are you willing to do to become a child

of God?

Page 50: BRINGING THE LOST TO JESUS Mk 2:1-12. Mark 2:1-12 “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And

All that matters is that you are a

faithful child of God and prepared to

meet Jesus Christ.
