A trAnsforMAtiVe progrAM for A trAnsforMing worldThe program’s modular format features periods of intense study followed by interim breaks, enabling you to immediately apply frameworks learned to your organization.

Your learning experience begins during the prepro-gram phase with an individualized assessment and prework. Modules 1 And 2, Leadership and Organizational Impact, take place in October 2014 on the Evanston campus and mark the official start of the program. Following these modules, you will return to your organization for a two-and-a-half-month interim period, during which you’ll stay connected to your peers and coaches through virtual collaboration and action-learning opportunities.

Module 3, Global Markets: China, will take you to Hong Kong and Shanghai, where you’ll engage in a deeply immersive experience within a complex, global business environment. Begin your second interim break in February 2015 before returning to

hArry M. krAeMerClinical Professor of Management and Strategy

Before penning the popular book From Values to Action: The Four Principles of Values-Based Leadership, Harry Kraemer honed his leadership skills for 22 years at Baxter International Inc., a multibillion-dollar global healthcare company. He joined Baxter in 1982 as director of corporate development; he later advanced to the positions of senior vice president, chief financial officer and president of the company. In 1999 and 2000, respectively, he was named CEO and chairman of the board of directors. Today, while remaining active in numerous business, educational and civic affairs, Kraemer serves as executive partner for Madison Dearborn, a Chicago-based private equity firm.

sergio rebeloTokai Bank Professor of Finance

A past consultant to the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the Federal Reserve System, Sergio Rebelo has made his mark in the world of finance. And for good reason: For decades, this renowned scholar and teacher has studied macroeconomics and international finance in depth, examining the causes of business cycles, the impact of economic policy on economic growth, the sources of exchange rate fluctuations and more. He is an expert in emerging markets, globalization, international finance, international economics, macroeconomics and monetary policy.

leigh thoMpsonJ. Jay Gerber Professor of Dispute Resolution and Organizations; Director, Kellogg Team and Group Research Center

How do companies facilitate team creativity? What is the social impact of information technology? What type of reasoning do CEOs use in their communications? Leigh Thompson’s groundbreaking research has sought answers to these questions and more — while revealing new insights about the nuances of negotiation, conflict resolution, team creativity and learning. A recipient of the National Science Foundation’s Presidential Young Investigator Award, Thompson is the author of more than 95 research articles and book chapters. She has written six books, including the highly regarded The Mind and Heart of the Negotiator.

Apply todAyThe Advanced Management Program is designed for senior executives in general management or top functional roles. Principal candidates for the program are senior executives with a minimum of 20 years of business experience, including five to 10 years in a general management or senior functional role.

AdMission criteriA

An admissions committee thoroughly reviews each application and considers the nature and scope of the applicant’s responsibilities. For the benefit of class members, sponsoring organizations and the integrity of the program, the committee seeks to admit individuals with comparable management responsibilities with diverse skills and experiences. Kellogg expects participants will attend all sessions, immerse themselves completely in the experience and free themselves of all other obligations while the program is in session.

Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English is part of the admissions criteria. Strong English language skills are essential to comprehend the reading materials and to contribute meaningfully to classroom and study group discussions.

To enroll in the Advanced Management Program, you must have a sponsor from your organization, someone familiar with your background and motivations for attending. This could be the person to whom you report, your organization’s chief human resource officer or the person responsible for management development in your organization.
