IMTA is a vibrant, democratic and open platform for connecting music therapists with youth, industry and society. The Conference provides a unique opportunity for open discussions and deliberations, to figure out and to recommend various measures

Makers, Academicians, Social Observers, Administrators, Music Therapy Advocates to meet, exchange perspectives and to share best practices related
to promotion and development of Healing Therapy through Music and other Performing Art forms.
Focus of the Conference• To propagate Music Therapy as an alternative intervention in hospitals and various other areas, where
music could be constructively used for the benefit of mankind.
• To create a professional forum for Music Therapists so that they can meet at regular intervals to exchange
their professional skills and understanding related to music and healing therapy.
Music & Healing Therapy: The RelationshipMusic Therapy is a growing non-invasive intervention in hospitals, rehabilitation-centres, elders’ home, army barracks, pre- and post-surgical wards, health centres and the like, all over the world. Decades back, the Americans had pioneered using music as a therapeutic intervention for rehabilitation of the world war veterans. However, historically and also legendarily it is Indians who pioneered the application of nadaas a form of Yoga to uplift the level of consciousness to achieve 'relaxed alertness'.
Conference Vision - Promotion of Music Therapy for peace, wellness, health and harmony
Conference Mission - Raising the extent of awareness, involvement, responsiveness and access through open deliberations
and discussions among Music Therapy Advocates, Policy Makers, Youth, Industry and Society at large.

Foundation, core, electives and unique courses related to world peace along with real life research projects are a part of the programme design. Adequate emphasis is laid upon co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The school helps students to understand the dynamics of the society and industry.
The Indian Music Therapy AssociationThe Indian Music Therapy Association (IMTA) is a professional forum for the working Music Therapists of India to propagate Music Therapy as a successful and alternative means of intervention across various ailments and strive towards enlarging the research and education of Music Therapy in India. Music has been used as a healer, a relaxer, a meditator, etc. "We tend to think of music as an art or a cultural attribute," notes Robert Zatorre, a neuro scientist at McGill University in Montreal, "but it is a complex human behaviour that is as worthy of scientific study as any other." It is indeed hard to exaggerate the effect music can have on the human brain. What seems clear is that the ability to experience and react to music is deeply embedded in the biology of mankind.
