A GUIDE TO BROOMSA variety of materials are used in the manufacture of our brooms and brushes. The different fillings have individual properties which offer your customers a considered choice.

For use in Wet Conditions For use in Dry Conditions

PLAIN COCOA by-product of coconut harvesting, natural coco is softer compared with other natural fillings, but still provides good sweeping characteristics. Not recommended for wet conditions.

PVCHard-wearing and provides excellent sweeping performance. Ideal for use inside and out and in very wet conditions.

UNION MIXTUREA combination of PVC or polypropylene and bassine offers both resilience and water holding capacity. Mainly used as a filling for scrubbing brushes.

BLACK COCOAll the benefits of natural coco but with an added dye to enhance the aesthetic appearance of the filament. Not recommended for wet conditions.

BASSINEA natural material made from dried palm leaves. Provides good sweeping performance, but is not recommended for prolonged periods in wet conditions.

POLYPROPYLENE (PP)Light and hard-wearing. Ideal for general indoor use and can also be used outside and in wet conditions.

BASSINE/CANE MIXTUREA combination of bassine for good sweeping characteristics, and cane for added stiffness. Not recommended for wet conditions.

Many of our brooms can be purchased fully assembled (complete with handles and stays where necessary). This icon highlights products available ready assembled, but for further details of the handle used please contact your local representative. If you wish to purchase handles separately please see page 21 for details.
