Principal’s News Tuesday 13 August 2019
Thank you to everyone who was able to join our celebrations of learning last Thursday. It was wonderful
seeing so many family members coming into our school, joining in with the children in their activities and
talking to them about their learning. I certainly enjoyed helping the children out investigating, creating and
solving their challenges.
A big thank you to 6D and Mrs Dunne for hosting our Education Week assembly so well. Hearing the
attitudes and efforts of our special Education Week award recipients reinforced just how wonderful a
student body, staff and community we have here at Broulee PS.
A reminder to all who ride or scooter to school, that they should enter our school through either the front
gate near the crossing and office or the back gate from Captain Oldrey Park. Once in school grounds bikes,
scooters and skateboards are not to be ridden and should be taken to the bike rack beside the hall. This is to
ensure the safety of everyone.
Well done to our Basketball teams who both played last Friday. Both teams played fantastic games, winning
their way through to round 5 of the knockout.
Thought for the week
FISH (Fair, Inclusive, Safe and Honest) are our school values and were recognised at last week’s assembly.
These values don’t only apply to school. They are important in developing a healthy society outside of school.
This week please take the time to talk to your children about these strong values and how they can
demonstrate them in and out of the school.
This Thursday’s assembly at 1.40 pm will be led by 2F. All families are welcome to attend.

SOUTHERN STARS SPECTATORS
Southern Stars is fast approaching. The performance brings together more than
2,500 students from across NSW, including students from Broulee PS, Batemans
Bay HS and Moruya HS.
As part of our Performing Arts appreciation, we have organised an excursion for
students in Year 3 to 6 to watch their peers participate in this year’s “Come
Alive” performance at the WIN Entertainment Centre, Wollongong on Friday 23
August.
The cost of attending the performance is now $50 and not $67 as previously
advised. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to see their fellow class
members and friends perform. Mrs Parker and I are very excited to be
attending this spectacle.
The permission note has been sent out on the App. If your child would like to
attend, please return the permission note and $50 to the Front Office by Friday
16 August. We have a limited number of seats still available.

K-2 Book Week Parade On Friday 23 August, Kindergarten, Year 1
and Year 2 will be celebrating the end of
Book Week.
The theme for this year is "Reading is my
Secret Power."
Students are able to dress up as a book
character for a parade in the Assembly
Hall commencing at 11:45 am.
Parents, carers, relatives, friends are
invited to attend.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Looking for ‘Coreflute’ We are seeking donations of long or large
sheets of ‘Coreflute’ (like corrugated card
but made of lightweight plastic, often
used for advertising signs) to make props
for the concert. I believe it is used for
packaging roofing sheets etc.
Please contact Clare Dunn via the school office if you have any you are able to
donate to us .

Wednesday 25 & Thursday 26 September
We have brought back the school concert!
We are putting on a show for you all so we hope you all can attend!
There will be quite a variety of performances - singing, dancing, drama -
we have it all to entertain you!
Both classes within each grade are practising the same performance and
each class will perform on one night. See below for the performance
schedule. Times will be confirmed at a later date.
As you can imagine a lot of organisation lies behind putting on a whole
school concert, so be prepared for some notes from your class teacher!
Fun times ahead!
