Last week was a particularly challenging and sad one for us and the fete helped to give our students a positive and fun event to focus on. It also helped our community to come together to talk and support each other. It gave parents a chance to reflect on how precious children are, and how happy memories are made and treasured. Although we have not finalized the accounts yet it would appear that the fete was an outstanding success. Once again thank you for your support, especially the dedicated parents and stamembers who spent many hours preparing for this event. Parent Teacher Interviews All teachers will be conducting "3 way interviews" during the coming weeks. This is part of our reporting to parents process where the teacher, student and parent meet to discuss the educational program/progress of the student. This is a collaborative meeting and one that we look forward to sharing with you. Parents may also make appointments at any time to speak to the teachers about a student's progress. Coming Events Don't forget that at this Thursday's assembly our major fete rae tickets will be drawn. If you have not yet returned your tickets please do so by Thursday morning at the very latest. Thank you to our wonderful community for their support and generosity last Thursday at our school fete.Last week was a particularly challenging and sad one for us and the fete helped to give our students a positive and fun event to focus on. It also helped our community to come together to talk and support each other. It gave parents a chance to reflect on how precious children are, and how happy memories are made and treasured.

Although we have not finalized the accounts yet it would appear that the fete was an outstanding success. Once again thank you for your support, especially the dedicated parents and staff members who spent many hours preparing for this event.

South Coast Regional Basketball Representatives

Lockie Armstrong and Zach Southwell travelled to Berkeley on Friday 9 March and after a long day, were selected as members of the South Coast Regional team.

The team will travel to Coffs Harbour in May 2012 to participate in the State Basketball Championship.

Netball ReportLast Thursday, 15th March, I had the pleasure of taking 3 netball teams to the District Round Robin at Captain Oldrey Park. All teams played 4 games each, we all had lots of fun. 5 girls were selected from the A Team in the possible/probables, they were: Kiara Filby, Cody Edwards, Emarni Cooke, Marissa Barry and Abbey Hillyar. Emarni, Marissa and Abbey were selected into the Eurobodalla District Team. Congratulations girls. Well Done!!A big thank you to Jayde Woolridge and Abbi Dunn from Moruya High School for giving up their time to umpire for the day. We are now looking forward to training for the netball knockout competition.Mrs Bourke

Sporting Results - BasketballMarissa Barry, Emarni Cooke, Lockie Armstrong, Zach Southwell and Darcy Rankin attended the Eurobodalla District Basketball trials on Tuesday 6 March and were selected in the Eurobodalla Basketball teams. A great effort.

The girls attended the regional trials at Shoalhaven last Friday with Marissa making it as far as the Possible/Probables game. Well Done Girls.

Oldrey Park Broulee.U10/11 with Zoran Pantellic start at

4.30pm Wednesday, U12/13 with Rob Juhusz at 5pm Wednesday.

U6 with Matt Cusack day/time TBC, U7 with Alan Ellis day/time TBC. Still need coaches for U8 & U9 teams if you are

THANKS FOR A GREAT FETE

There are many people to thank for helping to make the Fete a wonderful event. Thank you to all the planning committee, the stall organisers and helpers, the Teachers, Canteen staff, Front Desk Staff, Ground staff, sponsors and students who helped set up on the day. The entertainers, volunteers and community groups helped fill the school with a happy, friendly atmosphere. Finally, thank you to all the families who attended, purchased raffle tickets and supported their children in having a fantastic time.

We do not have a final figure of how much we can give to the school but should have this by the next newsletter. The Major Raffle will be drawn at assembly this Thursday. Winners will be contacted by phone and published in next weeks’ newsletter.

ONCE AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR YOUR EXTRAORDINARY SUPPORT OF THE FETE.

Thank you to our Fete Entertainers.A huge thank you to all our wonderful school and community members who came along to perform for us at the Fete last Thursday. Louis Ramos and his music students Abbey Hillyar and Chelsea Rowley, the ‘Broulee Bellies’, The ‘Jewels of Isis’ (Mel and Klara) for their incredible belly dancing, Terry McGee for playing his flute, Beachside Dance boys ‘Greased Lightning’ performance , Chris Ritchie and the impressive dog obedience group, Paul Johnston on his guitar and piano accordion and Mia Johnston for her lovely voice, Luka Bussa and Morgan Fitzgerald for their amazing bike riding skills, Husqvana their sponsors and Moruya Yard and Gardens for providing the logs and timbers for their riding expo., Moira and the energetic Batemans Bay Caledonian Scottish Dancers and last but not least Liz Cooke and Sarah Cowen for wrapping up the evening with some great original songs.Thank you all for helping to make our Fete a success.
