Sometimes the wireless card in a laptop doesn’t connect to the
wireless network correctly – if you hover over the wireless icon
in the system tray (bottom right) it should say connected to
STLCC-acad. If this is not the case
Hold down the Fn key and hit F2 once to turn off the wireless
card, wait a few seconds, then once more to turn it back on. It
should now connect to STLCC-acad.

The specially designed hardware and firmware are optimized for exceptional
PDF417 performance in all types of scanning applications. PDF417 reading is
accomplished by sweeping the scanner up or down over the code, quickly
gathering, decoding, and outputting the data to the host system. The scanner
ticks while collecting data, providing instant user feedback on performance. All
symbologies are automatically discriminated with no reduction in decoding
speed.

Computer Systems: Receive Fax at Desktop ,Phone Shoretel,
STLCC-CPLS:Morrison 6/3/2015 Page 29
You must have a ShoreTel phone to receive a fax.
Give your telephone number as your fax number to the person sending the fax.
Example: If your phone number is 513-1234, have the fax sent to that number. The telephone
system knows what to do with the call.
Be sure to give them the entire seven-digit number.
If you are expecting a fax, let the call go straight to voicemail.
However, if you do answer the phone, you will hear one to two beeps if it is an incoming fax. Do
not hang up on the call. Let the ShoreTel system disconnect
the call.
The incoming fax will show up in your e-mail inbox. You can forward or file the document like
any other e-mail.
The fax itself will be a PDF attachment to the e-mail. The fax will also appear in the body of the
e-mail (up to five pages) for searching capability within Outlook.
If you do not receive an expected fax in your inbox within 10-15 minutes, please send an e-mail
to [email protected] as there is a probable programming error.

Computer: Saving
Files issues,Win 7,
from BB 11/21/12
STLCC-CPLS:Morrison 6/3/2015 Page 30
Hey, so have been fighting with my computer since the new install when I am saving files, and Rick Moeller just shares a little tip with me…thought I would share because while the fix is super silly simple, it works! When I would try and save a document, and this mostly seems to be happening with PDFs that I had edited (expense report, time keeping, etc). Apparently some softwares have an issue with this. When I would go to “save as” and save the document as something else, I would get
And would be unable to save the document in that same folder…in fact, I usually had to save it somewhere completely different, like the desktop, etc. Well, the fix is this…if you have gone in to the document via YOUR DOCUMENTS folder, some softwares are going to give you this message. The fix? Easy, …when you are saving, back out and go into the exact same folder via the P drive, and you will have NO PROBLEM at all! Hope this helps if you are having the same problem! Have a happy TURKEY day! GOBBLE GOBBLE!

Per the IKON technician, the College has required that all the printers be set to double-sided copies. To make a single-sided copy you must manually un-select the double-sided option on the printer. If you are printing from your computer, you must turn off the “duplex” option before you print. Also, I know some of you wanted to have copies staple when you print from your computer. You must turn that option ON before you print. If you are printing a word document, you will do the following: From a Word document, go to: >File
>Print
>Printer Properties
To print single-sided:
>Click the drop arrow on Duplex and select “Off” To staple:
>Click the Staple drop arrow and select the location you want for your staple

Computer Systems; Ricoh Printer Paper Loading
STLCC-CPLS:Morrison 6/3/2015 Page 47
FYI, this is what I put into the paper tray:
PLEASE READ BEFORE
LOADING PAPER! When you load paper, please do
NOT adjust the paper guides. Simply
fan your paper and load it into the
tray.
If you must adjust the paper guides,
make sure the paper guide is
UNLOCKED (see the green
lock/unlock symbols on the paper
tray).
Once your adjustments have been
made, please LOCK the guide.
If you attempt to adjust the paper
guide while it is locked, it will break. Angi T.

How to properly add paper to the CPLS Ricoh
Printer/Copier (Angela Taylor Sep2012)
STLCC-CPLS:Morrison 6/3/2015 Page 48
Fan your paper (found in the cabinet below the wall calendar).
Open drawer (1) and add the paper to the tray on the right.
Do NOT adjust the green levers! If you improperly adjust these levers, you WILL
break the machine!
Do NOT put excess paper on the left side of the paper tray (where I have the STOP
sign printed).
Do NOT over-fill the paper tray.
Please put excess paper back in the cabinet.
DO read the sign I have posted to the left of the paper tray.

From Doug Mahoney: 9/26/11 Email: to SS, RN, BM
“Change is good! According to the document, the “titles” are not exactly what they
should be. Since Richard is the Administrator, he should sign on the Department Chair
line and the Division Dean line (as neither really exists at BRDG). Then all you need is
your and Jay Van Reed’s signatures before I get it. If Richard is not available then
Ashok can sign for Richard. If Richard doesn’t sign it, then we have to wait for Ashok. If
the waiting is okay with you, then we are all on the same plan – it can go either way.”
