served for four years as aTrainer, Human ResourceSpecialist, andCommissioned SalesAssociate at Sears inAbilene. He further servedfor 11 1/2 years as anInstructor of NetworkingTechnology and AssociateVice President at TexasState Technical CollegeWest Texas Abilene. Chamber Wraps-up First TRC CampaignThe Brownwood Area Chamber of

Commerce concluded its first everTotal Resource Campaign (TRC) onMarch 29th with a victory party spon-sored by Painter & Johnson Financial.During the campaign, the Chamberbrought collected $85,000 in sponsor-ship money with the help and hard

work of local volunteers.During the TRC, volunteers sold

sponsorship opportunities to localbusinesses for events and promotionsoffered through the Brownwood AreaChamber of Commerce. The TRCwas designed to give Chamber mem-bers an array of opportunities tobecome more involved with theorganization. Over a seven-weekperiod which began February 8,dozens of volunteers worked in teamsto help businesses design customizedsponsorship plans for the entire year.The most successful volunteers wonincentives, prizes and trips to LasVegas.

The top volunteer was PriscillaMonson of West/Central ValuationService who brought in over $15,000.She was followed by Bryce Harris ofWT Harris Company and Edda Ratliffwho each sold more than $10,000each in Chamber sponsorships.

Robert Porter of Porter Insuranceand Brian Wade each won an iPad ina drawing at the Victory Party.

The TRC Chairman Bert V.Massey, II was instrumental in help-ing move the campaign along and

motivating the volunteers. With thehelp of Massey, volunteers, and staff;the Brownwood Area Chamber ofCommerce had a successful TotalResource Campaign and are lookingforward to next year.

Sam WaldropSam Waldrop is a Brownwood native,graduating Brownwood High Schoolin 1992. After finishing anArchitectural degree at Texas A&M, hemoved to Austin, Texas to continue hisdesign training for several years.

About ten years ago, Sam returnedhome to Brownwood with his lovelywife Jenny. Today, he helps run thefamily business, Waldrop ConstructionCompany, while raising three energetic

boys. Sam is excited to serve on the chamber board, becausehe wants to give back to the community that has given somuch to him.
