SEPTEMBER EVENT AT THE BAHAMA HOUSE

The weather was picture perfect for the 21 SCC members who went to the Bahama House at Daytona Beach Shores for the weekend. Friday

afternoon we enjoyed each other’s company around the pool then after the

cocktail hour we had a pizza party for dinner. Saturday everyone enjoyed the day doing what they wanted to do. In the evening after the cocktail

party we went to Lulu’s for dinner; the food and service were great. I was asked by everyone to plan this event next year, so hopefully those who

could not go this year will join us for the fun and sun in 2017. It really is

better at the Bahama House.

Do you know what a ESC system means? This refers to electronic stability control, which is designed to slow and control your vehicle from oversteer and understeer, which takes advantage of the existing ABS and traction control system. This system monitors individual wheel speed, engine speed, steering direction, and the degree of lean and roll. This helps the driver maintain control of the vehicle to avoid front-end push, tail wagging, and loss of traction. This only aids you, so you also have to be alert to your surrounds, so enjoy driving but also be careful.

SCC Annual Thanksgiving Dinner

Hey Folks, it’s that time of the year again to plan for our most attended event. A

great time to celebrate with all the members and give Thanks for another great

year. Based on our great feedback for three years in a row, we will again celebrate

at Nino’s in Stuart. (2500 SE Federal Hwy. in the Regency Square Plaza) He will

prepare a massive Turkey buffet with all the basic fixings' like last year, with

plenty of time to socialize before Dinner.

The event is scheduled Sunday, November 13th with a cash bar cocktail hour from

5PM to 6PM and Dinner at 6PM. Once again, the Board negotiated a great fee and

your contribution is only $10 per person with SCC picking up the balance of the

cost for our dinner. It’s still a great value for a wonderful time.

Al DeLong will again be collecting funds for the event. Please contact or respond

to him DIRECTLY at [email protected] with any questions and plans to

attend. Checks are to be made out to The Stuart Corvette Club and mailed to Al

DeLong, 1728 SW Mockingbird Dr. Port St. Lucie, FL 34986. Because of the size

of this event, all checks and reservations must be received by Al before

November 5th, to allow the restaurant time to prepare for us. No exceptions can

be made after this date. Looking forward to seeing all of you there for another

great event! AND DON’T FORGET to bring your canned and packaged foods for our

“Treasure Coast Food Bank” annual drive to help others less fortunate than us to

celebrate as well! Let’s make it another record breaking year! Thanks to All.

Brunch with Barry Hi Everyone,

I promised a little of Key West to those who attended this month's BwB. The little

turned out to be our cruise to the Key West Diner on US1 for great food, service and lots

of fun. 25 joined me this month and everyone was pleased with the event. I have been

taking members there for years and have enjoyed every visit.

So until next time, Great Friends, Great Cars, Life is Good.
