On September 11, 2001, after justhaving finished an overnight shift
at the firehouse, Stephen Siller wason his wayhome when he heard on hisscanner news of the World TradeCenter disaster. Stephenimmediately turned his car
around and drove to the BrooklynBattery Tunnel. With traffic at astandstill, Stephen got out of hiscar, strapped on hisgear and ran through the tunnel.He eventually met up with his
Squad members as they rushedinto the World TradeCenter. Stephen Siller and tenother members of his Squadperished while saving the lives oftheir fellow Americans.
